Did Ed Boon Just Konfirmed Mortal Kombat XL For PC?
by Gambid on Jul 31, 2016 :: 7 Comments

Yesterday, Netherrealm Studios creative director and Mortal Kombat co-creator Ed Boon asked the fans on twitter what Mortal Kombat X news they would most like to see next:

- MKXL with GGPO for PC
- ESL tournament Season 4
- Balance/buff my fighter!

Today he decided to comment on the results informing everyone that the team is hearing them:

Ed Boon Confirmed Mortal Kombat XL For PC

Giving the fact that Ed Boon pinned the tweet and that a PC version of Mortal Kombat XL with GGPO netcode is the clear winner, it would seem that Netherrealm Studios and Warner Bros might have finally decided to do right by the PC fans of the franchise. Other games like Injustice: Gods Among Us were also released much later for PC.

The second most voted entry is a balance patch for the game, so who knows we might get this one as well, or may be all of them. Ed Boon has been teasing the three topics for a while now, so fingers crossed.

We would like to remind you all that this still isn't equal to an official announcement. But still, what do you think? Are we going to get Mortal Kombat XL for PC?

Another Ed Boon Poll: Is A PC Version Of MKXL Koming?
by Roy Arkon on Jul 31, 2016 :: 0 Comments

Ed Boon published a lot of Twitter polls in the last few days. This time the Mortal Kombat co-creator asks what news regarding Mortal Kombat XL we would like to see the most. The options are as follows:

1) Mortal Kombat XL with GGPO netcode for the PC
2) Mortal Kombat XL ESL Season 4
3) Balance and buff/nerf patch for the game

As of this moment of writing, option #1 leads with 48%, with option #3 being a close second with 41%.

How much of an indicator are all of these polls? Are the winning options a sign of things to come? And if it is the case, are we going to get Mortal Kombat XL on the PC, with the updated NRS-style GGPO netcode?

Personal opinion: I would love all those 3 options to occur, fingers crossed.

Ed Boon Teases Good News For Mortal Kombat XL On SDCC
by Gambid on Jul 25, 2016 :: 4 Comments

After EVO Ed Boon tweeted that big news are coming for Mortal Kombat XL. Since then it has been kind of quiet. This changed when Ed Boon was asked about the exact same thing during an IGN interview on this years' San Diego Comic Con. Take a look, the Mortal Kombat X part start at 3:42:00:

This time Ed Boon chooses his words more carefully than on twitter. What he says is that if he get thing his way, there will be more news about Mortal Kombat XL. What this means is that he is probably trying to organize something, may be he is negotiating something with Warner Bros that isn't set in stone yet.

We all hope he is successful and we all get more content in the game.

What do you think is the big news?

MKX Chasing the Cup Beats SFV EVO Finals in Views
by Roy Arkon on Jul 20, 2016 :: 0 Comments

According to a tweet by pro MK player, Brant "Pig of the Hut" McCaskill, Mortal Kombat XL proves it's popularity yet again. According to the tweet, the MKX ESL Chasing the Cup Series on the CW Network, which was aired earlier this year, has received 770,000 views, in contrast to the Street Fighter V EVO finals that were aired this past Sunday on ESPN2 (alongside Twitch) which received only 201,000 views.

Although the SFV finals have been splited between Twitch and ESPN2, plus that CW network is a free channel in America in comparison to the cable-only ESPN2 channel, the overall number of views for SFV finals was still 421,000 on both Twitch and ESPN2.

On a side note, the MKX EVO finals, despite it's early time slot, had received over 93,000 views on Twitch, that's a very good number considering the time slot.

It seems that there is indeed an audience for MKX, both in the fields of casual fans and competitive scene alike. Let's hope that NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. will keep up the good work.

Here is Brant "Pig of the Hut" McCaskill's tweet.

After the Mortal Kombat XL finals at EVO Championship Series have come into conclusion, many fans were wondering what happened to the news that appearntly were planned to be addressed at EVO regarding MKX. Ed Boon just now came on Twitter and said the following after a fan asked him about it on Twitter: "Never planned it for EVO, but there is big MKXL news coming".

Although that Boon is known for his troll-like shenanigans, every time he says something it eventually leads to something. After reading this tweet, perhaps there is still hope.
