Prince Rogers Nelson has passed away
by Roy Arkon on Apr 28, 2016 :: 0 Comments

Last week, for those of you who don't know, on April 21, 2016, Prince Rogers Nelson, also known as the Prince, has passed away at the age of 57.

Ed Boon, co-creator of Mortal Kombat, was a huge fan of the Prince, and in homage to the famous singer, he created an MK ninja character after his song Purple Rain, giving him the color purple as the his palette color of choice, and giving him the name Rain, thus Rain was born. And later it was reveled that Rain was the Prince of the realm of Edenia, who tries to re-achieve the glory days of royalty and leadership.

We at MKSecrets.net would like to send our condolences to the Nelson's family, friends and peers on this said occasion.

New Intros With an Easter Egg and Stage Specific Intros
by Roy Arkon on Apr 24, 2016 :: 0 Comments

A lot of new intros have been discovered recently in Mortal Kombat XL. Some of them have been added during the MKXL update, others have been in the game from the start but now have been discovered as stage specific intros.

Here is a video showing the new intros in MKXL:

1) Johnny Cage Vs. Goro
2) Ermac Vs. Ermac
3) Liu Kang Vs. Kung Lao
4) Kano Vs. Takeda
5) Kitana Vs. Kitana

The Takeda Vs. Kano one is actually an easter egg referenced to the Crocodile Dundee movie, as you can see in this video:

Also, here is a video showing the stage specific intros:

1) Outworld Marketplace: Johnny Cage vs. Kotal Kahn (x2)
2) Jinsei Chamber: Takeda vs. Liu Kang; Shinnok vs. Raiden (both can also be done on Sky Temple)
3) Quan Chi's Fortress: Quan Chi vs. Raiden
4) Krossroads: Raiden vs. Johnny Cage (can also be done on Quan Chi's Fortress)
5) Dead Woods: Erron Black vs. Sub-Zero
6) Lin Kuei Temple: Sub-Zero mirror match
7) Kuatan Jungle: Reptile vs. Mileena
8 ) Any stage except Kuatan Jungle: Reptile vs. Mileena
9) Emperor's Kourtyard: Raiden vs. D'Vorah; Ermac vs. D'Vorah; Erron Black vs. Kitana
10) Any Outworld-based stage (The Kove, Emperor's Kourtyard, Outworld Marketplace or Kuatan Jungle): Erron Black vs. Kung Lao; Ermac vs. Sonya

Is Kombat Pack 3 coming to MKXL?
by Roy Arkon on Apr 21, 2016 :: 4 Comments

Ed Boon opened two polls on his Twitter pages, one for male MK characters and one for female ones, asking the fans which character from either gender fans have missed the most. Noob Saibot (AKA Bi-Han, the original Sub-Zero and the brother of the current Sub-Zero, Kuai Liang) has won over Rain, Baraka and Kabal on the male poll, while the female one was won by Jade over Sindel, Skarlet and Sheeva, despite Kitana having Jade's moveset in her Mouthful Variation.

One can assume that MKXL is gonna get yet another update, with Kombat Pack 3 being the main add-on coming for it, and considering the poll results, if it is true, we might see the return of the two MK2 secret characters as playable ones in MKX. Take this with a grain of salt though, as Ed Boon is known for some trolling with the fans.

Bradycast: Mortal Kombat XL Review
by Roy Arkon on Apr 7, 2016 :: 2 Comments

Tom Brady (the fighting game player, not the football player), who is one of the most famous Mortal Kombat players in the world, made a review on Mortal Kombat XL in its current condition, including a look at all of the changes and improvements made by Netherrealm Studios. In my honest opinion, this review is a very accurate one, and you should check it out. Enjoy!
