Mortal Kombat X: The Kove Concept Art
by Gambid on Sep 14, 2014 :: 0 Comments

Every fighter or arena starts out as an idea in someone's head. But before going into modelling and integration into the game this idea first becomes a sketch or a painting. Some of the ideas actually never survive this first phase. For those that do, the final result is always somehow different from the idea which was first put down on paper.

Netherrealm Studios recently published the concept art for the Mortal Kombat X arena The Kove. Take a look:

Mortal Kombat X Generic Male Model
by Gambid on Sep 14, 2014 :: 0 Comments

The development of a game is always an interesting and often an unknown process to most of the people who enjoy the final product. Because of this we have In Development sections for each game where we track the most interesting facts of their development. Recently, creative director Ed Boon posted an image online of the generic male model used for testing in Mortal Kombat X:

He even jokingly posted his three variations:

1. Vanilla

by Gambid on Sep 14, 2014 :: 3 Comments

There isn't really much information about the third season of Mortal Kombat: Legacy. It's production has not even been officially confirmed by the studio yet. However one of the actors involved in the project is giving us at least some status on the series by posting pictures of him preparing for the upcoming episodes. Yes, I am talking about the Johnny Cage actor Casper Van Dien.

Mortal Kombat X GamesCon Roundup: Ed Boon Interviews
by Gambid on Sep 7, 2014 :: 0 Comments

This year's GamesCon came and went and the recently announced Kano was definitely one of the most discussed Mortal Kombat X news, but he was definitely not the only one.

Let's take a look at three interviews which cover some very interesting Mortal Kombat X topics:

IGN: Ed Boon Interview

In this interview, creative director Ed Boon talks about the story mode, the return of an -ality, the DLC characters, the chances of Rain being in the game and a lot more. Take a look:

Even though we couldn't go to Cologne this time around two other Mortal Kombat fan sites were there (MKUniverse and The Kombat Tether)

MKUniverse: Ed Boon Interview

Story mode is one of the discussed topics in this interview as well. Kotal Kahn is revealed to not be related to Shao Kahn. Other topics include multi tiered arenas, the very good chance of Stage Fatalities, characters' variations, online mode, the new mode that will replace challenge tower, the fate of Toasty in the game, Dan Forden and a lot more. Take a look:

The Kombat Tether: Ed Boon Interview

The guys over at The Kombat Tether also had the chance to visit GamesCon and interview creative director Ed Boon. Here are some of the asked questions:

Will we see any classic or previous MK stages in the game? We can certainly name a few fan favourites.

Are you worried at all that given the new technology at your disposal that you're going too far with some of the fatalities and depictions of violence?

Aside from the graphical fidelity, is there anything else that will be significantly different in the last generation versions of the game?

It became common knowledge that Brutalities were implemented but later cut from MK9 due to time constraints. Could we see these foundations built upon in a future instalment?

Click here to read the interview and find out the answers of these and a lot other questions.
