GameSpot reported that Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks has been offcially finished. Below is a part of the article:
Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks Goes Gold

The new PS2 and Xbox spin-off of Midway's long-running series knocks down the factory door. Since 1992, the Mortal Kombat franchise has treated console owners and arcade-goers to countless hours of bone-crunching, spine-ripping action. But despite its age, the series is showing no signs of pulling any punches.

Today, Midway Games announced that the new spin-off of the series, Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks, has gone gold. The PlayStation 2 and Xbox game is now primed to take on all comers at retail on September 19, when it ships to stores. The game is rated M for Mature and will retail for $49.99. The game was developed by Midway Studios Los Angeles--formerly Paradox Development--with input from Midway Studios Chicago.

Like previous Mortal Kombat games, Shaolin Monks will deliver the series' signature brand of ultraviolent hand-to-hand carnage. However, the game departs from the strict one-on-one arena format of previous installments and is instead a Ninja Gaiden-esque action adventure. Players will be able to play as several classic MK characters in single-player mode, or they can team up with a friend in the two-person "ko-op" mode. However, the game will still retain many of the series' fighting elements, including special attacks. Now, though, those attacks can be built up as the game progresses, and players will also be able to attack multiple enemies at once.

GameSpot are not the only one with a Mortal Kombat: Shaolin Monks update. IGN updated with the third Legend of Kombat video, that gives more detailed information on Baraka, Goro and the Masked Guards in the game.

The Mortal Kombat (Mugen) Project

by Gambid on Sep 6, 2005 :: 36
Mortal Kombat Project is a Mortal Kombat fighting game made by fans. It is based on the free fighting engine MUGEN, developed by Elecbyte in 2003. I was first introduced to this project several months ago while it was still developed by bWWd (its former programmer) who did a lot of great work. But since he left the project a new team has been working on it and I was surprised when I started the latest beta version earlier this night. The game now has more characters (29), more backgrounds (72) and a lot of bugs has been fixed which makes it now a lot more fun to play. As a Mortal Kombat game, this one also has special moves, blood, Fatalities and Stage Fatalities. Some of the new arenas look really cool. In this game you will find backgrounds from almost all Mortal Kombat games. The most interesting thing for me is the characters Reiko, which makes his first appearance in a 2D Mortal Kombat game.

There really is a lot more I want to say about this project but let the screenshots do this job:
