Mortal Kombat 11 Masquerade Skin Pack Now Available

by Roy Arkon on Oct 18, 2019 :: 0

A new Skin Pack is now available for purchase for Mortal Kombat 11. That is the Masquerade Skin Pack, which includes 3 Halloween-themed skins. Those skins are Wicked Witch Jade, Calavera Liu Kang and Psyko Killer Kabal. All Skins also come with 3 matched Gear pieces, one for each section for each character. The Psyko Killer Kabal Skin and it's matched Gear pieces in particular are inspired by Jason Voorhees, who you probably remember being a guest character in Mortal Kombat XL.

It should be noted that this Skin pack is separated from MK11's Kombat Pack 1, so you will have to pay for it separately, just like in the case for the Kold War and Brazil Skin Packs for MKX (although they eventually became a part of MKX's Kombat Pack 2). The Skin pack cost 6$, so go purchase it right now and enjoy the new Halloween Skins.

Here is the Trailer for the Masquerade Skin Pack, enjoy.

Ed Boon Interivew: Big Surprise Coming In 2020

by Roy Arkon on Oct 16, 2019 :: 0

Ed Boon was at the Brazil Game Show which took place this past weekend. In an interview there, he talked about the creation of Mortal Kombat 11 (for example how it was made after the Variation system from Mortal Kombat XL) and also how it is to meet the Brazilian Fighting Game Community.

When asked if there are any news or projects regarding MK for the future, Boon says that the answer is yes and no, as this is basically the end of the story (for MK11, that is) but there are still more characters to come, and NetherRealm Studios have a big surprise coming next year for MK.

Check out the interview below:

Obviously, the characters that will be added are in relation to Kombat Pack 2 that should be announced next year for MK11, but the "big surprise" that Boon mentioned, whatever it might be, can lead to several things. One can assume that Boon will keep teasing that surprise until it will be officially announced. Until then, we will just have to wait.

Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack Reveal Trailer

by Roy Arkon on Aug 21, 2019 :: 0

The wait is finally over, the Mortal Kombat 11 Kombat Pack trailer has arrived, showcasing the full cast of character to be included in it. Shang Tsung and Nightwolf are already out for everyone to download, and now we see the final four: Terminator T-800 (being modeled and voiced by none other Arnold Schwarzenegger himself), Sindel, the Joker (being voice by Richard Epcar, who voiced both Raiden and the Joker in Midway and NetherRealm Studios games since Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe), and finally Spawn.

On top of that, we also got the release date for each character:
*Terminator T-800 - 10/08/2019
*Sindel - 11/26/2019
*The Joker - 01/28/2020
*Spawn - 03/17/2020

Author's opinion: An awesome line up indeed. Already have so much fun with Shang Tsung (being the way to play Reptile in MK11) and Nightwolf is also great. Really looking forward to both Sindel and Joker, Terminator looks perfect thanks to Schwarzenegger, and it's great to finally see Spawn making it to Mortal Kombat.

So go order the Kombat Pack if you haven't done so already to get all of those characters and skins that will be available alongside them.

MK11 Tops Sales On All Systems, Sold 1.8M Digital Units

by Roy Arkon on May 24, 2019 :: 0

Mortal Kombat 11 was released just over a month ago, and yet not only it continues to impress with everything it has to offer, but now it continues to achieve more and more financial hits across the board, landing Krushing Blows and Fatal Blows to all of it's competition, on top of making it to the top of the PS Store Download Charts for April on PS4 as we have reported 2 weeks ago.

An article on Business Insider which was informed by Ed Boon on Twitter, MK11 has managed to top the sales charts on all three major consoles (PlayStation 4, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch) in the month of it's release (April), according to industry analysts at the NPD Group, and has generated $427 million in revenue during April 2019. The data includes both digital and physical sales figures from more than a dozen different publishers in the United States. That is such a huge, rare feat that no other game from any series or genre has managed to achieve in more then a decade. According to the article, the last game to achieve that feat was "Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock" in October 2007.

But that's not all, a more detailed information piece from the NPD Group analysis came from an article on Eventhubs, confiming that MK11 has toped the sales for April not just on consoles, but on PC as well. In Addition, MK11 has become the 2nd best-selling game of 2019 to date, only behind Kingdom Hearts 3. And also, it is the first time that a 3rd party game has led the monthly Switch best-sellers charts since Mario + Rabbids Kingdom Battle in September 2017.

And finally, according to a report on Super Data, MK11 has the best digital launch in the history of the franchise, as it sold 1.8 million digital units across console and PC in May, up from 400,000 units for Mortal Kombat XL in 2015, largely due to rising digital download rates on console.

Without question, MK11 is a smash hit, achieving feats from all angles, and it looks like it's not going to stop anytime soon. It surely is a real Fatality to all of it's competition.
