Ed Boon Talks MK 25th Anniversary and a New Movie

by Roy Arkon on Jun 17, 2017 :: 0
Mortal Kombat co-creator and head of NetherRealm Studios Ed Boon was interviewed on Giant Bomb at Nite, where he talked about several topics, including MK related ones.

At the 1h30m28s mark, he talks about 25th Anniversary of the Mortal Kombat franchise, as the series will be 25 years old on 10.8.2017. Boon said: "There might be stuff, probably nothing that I'm at liberty to say, it would've been cool if MKX landed on that year (25th Anniversary) but it's not to be. It would be a shame if there's nothing, if we did nothing. I've seen a couple ideas floating around that could be fun."

At the 1h54m34s mark, Boon talks about the idea of a new MK movie: Boon said: " I've seen a lot of stuff too, which I'm definitely not at liberty to say. I personally would love to see a new one but from a young director."
So what could be done for the 25th anniversary of the MK? And what would be in a new MK movie, if there ever will be such one? There are several potential ideas that are possible, we will see.

Mortal Kombat: Book of Remembrance Trailer

by Roy Arkon on Feb 25, 2017 :: 0
As the demand for an MK Encyclopedia for all things Mortal Kombat, now known as the Mortal Kombat: Book of Remembrance, keeps growing more and more, a trailer for the highly requested book has been surfaced on the web. It's a really well done trailer with a lot of throwbacks to the old Mortal Kombat games, and narrated by none other then Richard Ecpar, who was the voice actor for Raiden in Mortal Kombat Vs. DC Universe, Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) and Mortal Kombat XL.

by Roy Arkon on Feb 16, 2017 :: 4
Pop Culture Shock has a new Mortal Kombat statue, and it's an amazing looking one, this statue is of no other then the 4 armed prince of all Shokan, Goro.

This 1/3 statue is roughly 3 feet tall, the base of it lights up with LED, and Goro has actual fabric for clothing instead of plastic, and has actual hair, all making it as realistic as possible.

Although there is no exact date or price for it at this point, this information should come very soon.

If you're interested, be sure to pay close attention to PCST's site as this pre-order is not yet available there:
