Ed Boon Teasing Ermac and Smoke For Mortal Kombat 11?

Ed Boon is coming with what can possibliy be another character tease, in a 2 for 1 special for that matter. First, Boon has Tweeted this trailer, confirming that Human Smoke is coming to Mortal Kombat Mobile, which features his iconic Living Forest secretive lurking hint from Mortal Kombat II.



This could've end right here as it officially confirms that Human Smoke is coming to MK Mobile, but it didn't. Almost immidiatly after that Tweet, Boon came with another one, featuring Scorpion, Human Smoke (with the same render from the MK Mobile trailer) and Ermac.



This might be nothing more then just another tease. However, with the high potential for more characters and content for Mortal Kombat 11, it seems that this could lead to the inclusion of both the Red and Gray Palliate Swap Ninjas for MK11. We will see what happens in the upcoming months.

Shawn Kittelsen Reveals The Cancelled Sequel To MKX Comic

As you might remember, the Mortal Kombat XL Comic written by Shawn Kittelsen, who also wrote the in-game story modes for Injustice 2, Mortal Kombat 11 and it's Aftermath story expansion, was ended with a lot of cliffhangers and unanswered questions. It turns out that the MKX Comics was planned to have a sequel to it, basically a season 2, which was unfortunately cancelled, and that season 2 was supposed to reveal the answers for those questions, some of which are teased in some places in MK11 such as Sheeva's intros.

Now thanks for the YouTube channel The History Behind the Warrior, Kittelsen directly reveals to us the plot that he planned all the way back then for the MKX Comic season 2. It should be noted however that what Kittelsen reveals is not an official canon but only apocryphal as he never even wrote it down in it's entirety. As a matter of fact, Kittelsen also reveals that he never actually worked for NetherRealm Studios and WB Games under contract but only as a freelancer, and now he is no longer working with them at the moment, and therefore he doesn't represent their opinions in any shape or form. So all of this can only be considered as possible scenario of what could've been.

Author's opinion: This really clears a lot of things regarding the MKX comics. Even though the MKX comics are only semi-canon, this story that Kittelsen planned clears a lot of things that could've gone extremely well with the actual game's story mode, and of course with MK11's intros. And he even planned to make a Season 3, it's such a shame that we couldn't have got it, but at the very least we got the clarification for what was planned and it's defiantly great to see it finally been revealed. Not to mention all of the callbacks and fan service that was presented in this apocryphal canon, as it is takes a lot of alternatives to events from Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance, Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon Also, Kittelsen is 110% totally right about the personal head-canons for everyone, as everyone can have their own canon thanks to Kronika, and it's excellent to see him coming with the classifications regarding decisions for the story and characters.

So there you have it folks. The untold story of the MKX Comic has finally been revealed. Right from the man himself, Shawn Kittelsen.

AT&T Seek To Sell Warner Gaming Unit Along With NRS & MK

As we've reported back in 2016, AT&T have purchased Time Warner and all of their assets, including Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment which include NetherRealm Studios, and therefore both the Mortal Kombat and Injustice franchises as well. According to CNBC.com, AT&T currently considering the idea of selling the gaming unit of WBIE in a deal that could fetch about $4 billion. This is done due to AT&T wanting to service its almost $200 billion in debt that it has currently.

This means that sooner or later, NRS and the MK franchise might very well be sold to another video game publishing company. As of right now, Take-Two Interactive Software, Electronic Arts and Activision Blizzard have all expressed interest in buying the gaming division, though no deal is assured or imminent at the moment.

Author's opinion: I honestly think that if any company should purchase NRS and MK, it should be one of the console manufacture companies, more specifically Sony or Microsoft. Yes it will make MK to be able to be sold only on one system (or at least just one console in the case of Microsoft), but these companies have an excellent track record of treating their exclusive IP's the right way (unlike Activision or EA, which have a terrible track record in that regard), and since the next console generation is right around the corner, having MK, the biggest Fighting Game franchise of all time, as one of their exclusive IP's, can be a massive game changer (no pun intended) for them in the business competition between them.

In any case, those are huge news indeed, so stay tuned for more news on the matter.

Mortal Kombat 11 Patch Notes - 06/10/2020

A new Mortal Kombat 11 Aftermath patch has been released for both PS4 and XB1. This includes bug fixes and character fixes and adjustments both for both the characters and game modes, with a few balance changes for the characters. Here are the notes:

General Gameplay Adjustments

  • Move list corrections
  • Fixed a rare Audio related game freezing issue
  • Fixed some issues with certain attacks using the incorrect Augment Elemental Type
  • Adjusted some overlapping text Menus regarding Augments

Kombat League/Online
  • “Find Next Opponent” is once again the first option at the end of a Ranked set and no longer requires a confirmation

Towers of Time
  • Fixed some rare issues with the Downburst Augment
  • Missing Towers of Time for some players should be now be working correctly
  • Optimized performance in Towers of Time

Stage Specific Adjustments
  • Kronika's Keep - Adjusted how some special moves interact with an opponent hit by the Time Orb Background Interaction

Character Specific Adjustments
  • D’Vorah - Bombardier Beetle & Bombardier Beetle Amplify can now only be parried by low projectile parries

  • Erron Black - The first 3 hits of Ghost Koins (Fatal Blow) no longer allow for Breakaway

  • Kabal - Fixed an issue with Buzzsaws playing an incorrect animation when hitting an opponent

  • Kitana - Fixed a rare issue that could result in the Armor from Augment Kahnt Touch This to remain active after certain circumstances

  • Kotal Kahn - Adjusted Totem buffs values when there are 2 or more stacks of Totems on screen
  • Kotal Kahn - The first hit of Pinned Down (Fatal Blow) no longer allows for Breakaway

  • Kung Lao - The first hit of Beaten And Broken (Fatal Blow) no longer allows for Breakaway

  • Noob - Shadow Klones will no longer sometimes continue to animate when hit by some projectile parries
  • Noob - Shadow Slide can now only be parried by low projectile parries

  • Fujin - Adjusted wind effects on opponent's cloth physics when Bending Wind (Away + Back Punch) is performed
  • Fujin - The final hit of Warped Needle Amplify now correctly works after it has been previously Flawless Blocked
  • Fujin - Fixed an issue with Fujin's Krossbow using an incorrect animation when winning a match under certain circumstances
  • Fujin - Fujin no longer sometimes has incorrect Gear Abilities in some Story Mode fights
  • Fujin - The first hit of Winds Of Change (Fatal Blow) no longer allows for Breakaway
  • Fujin - You can no longer do an extended combo against your opponent after Finish Him with Warped Needle until the Fatality window timeout has occurred
