A Look Back At The History Of The Animalities

As we all know, Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) will include in it's Khaos Reigns update the return of a classic Finishing Move, the Animalities, in which the winning kombatant gets to turn into an animal and kill the opponent with his/her hidden transformation abilities. The Animalities made their debut in Mortal Kombat 3 (1995) and it's updated iterations, Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 (also 1995) and Mortal Kombat Trilogy (1996), but they weren't included in any Mortal Kombat game since then, making their comeback in MK1 (2023): Khaos Reigns (2024) the first time that they would be featured in 28 years.

As for perpetration for the return of the classic Finisher, MK YouTuber Ketchup made a new video looking back at the origins of the Animalities, all the false rumors of them being already in the series in Mortal Kombat II, comments from John Vogel regarding the process of making the Animalities and more.

We've already seen a few of the different animals that appear in MK1 (2023): Khaos Reigns, and one can only wonder what the rest of the animals will be and which characters they will belong to. Regardless, it's an existing time for game, and we don't have to wait for long.
