With the release of
Invasions Season 2 Netherrealm addressed a common complain of the players that the
Secret Fights are happening too frequently by hardening the conditions for them (and probably not every encounter has one any more) so much so that you can go all the through Invasions without unlocking a single secret fight. Well, we now know the conditions to trigger the
Secret Battle for the
Final Boss of Season 2:
- Play as Sub-Zero
- Perform a Fatality
If done right, you will trigger a secret fight against
Sub-Zero in a skin, that we right now assume would be his skin in the upcoming
Invasions season of which he would be the final boss.

Knowing this turns this Secret Fight really into something special, so well done. Before you ask, there is no real reward for winning the fight.
