That was amazing indeed, the attachment to realism is one of the things that make Mortal Kombat so special, and it's still going on today with MK11 and how NRS/WB used real life actors for their character models in this game.

I also must point out how Bret Hart from the WWE footage for WWE WrestleMania the Arcade Game was shown at 06:30, that game was a one of the two things that made me such a huge fan of WWE and The Undertaker, up until today, with the other thing being the VHS of The Undertaker - His Gravest Matches.

Both Midway and Acclaim had a gigantic impact not just on my childhood, but my life as a whole, and the use of digitized graphics was one of the many reasons for that.

Mortal Kombat did in fact impacted the life of a lot of people. BTW have a look at the other documentaries, some are really good.
