There have been several months since we last heard something about the next Mortal Kombat web series.
The confirmed information so far is that actors Cary-Hiroyuki Tagawa and Casper Van Dien are reprising their roles as sorcerer Shang Tsung and Hollywood actor Johnny Cage. We also know that filming took place last January.
The new information is that actor Lewis Tan will be portraying Mortal Kombat X character Kung Jin:
He announced the news himself on his own instagram page.
Recently fellow Mortal Kombat website MKOnline also revealed that production of the series has been finished. There is still no official release date or an official confirmation to this news. This could however happen at any moment.
According to the rumors, the series will include several Mortal Kombat X characters and will be called Mortal Kombat Generations.

Wait so MK Legacy is finished and stopped just like that? Why they have to cancel the series and start a new one? I enjoed MK Legacy, it's a shame to be honest that it is over.
And also, is that series' story is going to be related thr story of the games (MK9, MKX etc) or it gonna only be based on it but it has it's own canon?
I hope that the series will not stop like the first two (MK Rebirth and MK Legacy), and in any case I'm looking forward to it. Kung Jin, Shang Stung and Johnny Cage already sounld like a good cast of characters.

Mortal Kombat: Rebirth was never a series. It was an unofficial short film.
As for Mortal Kombat Legacy, there is currently no information.Currently it does not really seem that the new series has anything to do with it. This is however how Warner Bros. do these things, they give absolutely no information.

Ok first, what was the other web series besides MK Legacy?
Secondly, what I meant is if the new series has anything to do with the canon of the games (not MK Legacy). So it's only goona be based on them but with just a canon of it's own?
And finally I find it weird that WB starts a new series and don't give that much of an info besides that. Maybe they're trying to make a series that is more loyal to the games and this is why they start a new one. Could be wrong though.

A single season counts as series. So we have Legaxy 1, 2 and now this new one.
About the canon, we don't know. They haven't announced anything. There is not even an official announcement about the series.

So if season 1 and 2 both counts as 2 series', then I guess that this new series is gonna be Season 3 of MK: Legacy. I mean, every season counts as a series, right?

Yes MK Legacy isn't canon, but those news seem like WB are gonna start a whole new series from scratch, which will lead yet anthoer canon of MK in addition to MK Legacy, the games, the movies etc., but since every seagon of Legacy is a different series, maybe this one will be season 3 of Legacy which will continue Legacy's version of the MK canon.thethiny wrote:Ed.boon said in a tweet MK Legacy is non-canon.Gambid wrote:A single season counts as series. That is what it seems like, but who knows, they might still connect it to Legacy in some way.
