Post by Gambid »

Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection is now available on XBox Live Arcade and PllayStation Network worldwide. Unfortunately the PC fans will have to wait a little while longer as we were informed that the PC version will be delayed until next month. The trailer for this compilation is now available for download:

Warner Bros. Interactive Entertainment today announces the Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection is now available for download on PSN in North America. In honor of this new collection, which offers players a chance to go back to the beginning and check out the first three games in the legendary franchise, the team is releasing an all-new trailer featuring a glimpse into the downloadable title's classic Mortal Kombat gameplay. The Mortal Kombat Arcade Kollection will be available tomorrow on Xbox Live and on PSN globally. The PC version will be coming out next month.

For $9.99 on PSN, and XBLA and PC for 800 Microsoft Points, the Mortal Kobmat Arcade Kollection offers fans the first three games in the series – the original Mortal Kombat, Mortal Kombat 2, and Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 – and online play, leader boards, achievements and trophies, as well as the chance to play through the games in their original arcade state. Developed by Other Ocean in conjunction with NetherRealm Studios, this collection marks the first time all three games have been brought together in one package.

This is nothing new.

More surprising is that they announced it so late.

Why f'd? You can already play them on MAME for your computer? Also MAME has MK3 and every version of the arcade games. The only thing missing would be the online matching.

Well, if you don't have a credit card or a pay pal you literally have no way to pay for the game.

I guess it is delayed because they want to put it in steam. And yet there are no commercials and pre-order announcements in steam :/

It come FREE (the ARCADE KOLLECTION) with purchase of the PDP MK Arcade stick for xbox 360. I was at Gamestop and the clerk saw my MK PAX shirt and asked if I was a big fan. When I said yes he took me to it. Looks like the original MK control panel but is basically the same stick as the Tournament edition. It's also $125.

One thing I noticed though - I downloaded the trial version of the Arcade Kollection and MK1's sound is off. In the attract mode when it shows Goro, the music just stops. Also there's other things that were off too compared to the original arcade games, mainly sound. I still don't understand why they delete Johnny Cage from the side artwork on MK1 cabinets. Just odd...
The "cabinet" setting on the screen options is HORRIBLE. Not even close to how it looks on a machine and just distorts the picture.
Overall, (maybe it's just because it was a demo) the game seems a little glitchy which is weird since I would've thought porting the originals would've been easy for them. I'm REALLY sad they ditched the HD VERSION idea. It really looked great and was exciting!
I did however, download UMK3 for my iphone last night. Not great, but for $1 I can't complain.

Yep the Arcade Kollection has its problems. I hope that they will at least fix the online so that it is not laggy. People are mostly complaining about this.

What do you mean, won't run. There is a problem after pressing pause, but otherwise the controls should be just fine.
