I was soooo thinking about this a couple weeks ago. They only had UMK3 on Xbox Live but now they have 1 and 2, that's fucking awesome!

Thanks for posting this

I really hope that the ports are arcade perfect. Other Ocean Interactive have made an incredible job on the ports they worked on so far.

Oh my god, I just recently was saying it would be cool if they rereleased these games in HD and my wish came true. Thanks MKSecrets for blowing my mind lol

Well... the game aren't really HD. They upscaled the graphics, so you shouldn't really be expecting clear and crisp HD graphics from the Kollection.

I see. Well it looks good anyways. I saw some other screenshots that looked so amazing but I think it wasn't the same game as this one.

IMO the only thing that would make this more perfect will be if they add Rain and Noob in this version of Ultimate

Anyway i'm buying the PC version :D

Its so great to see the classics back again and at a resonable price too.
Can't wait to see what the enhancements are on it.
Great job bringing it back. Love to see it on regular consoles like the ps2 that doesn't have much online game play anymore.
I miss playing MK:Armageddon online. :(

Rain and Noob Saibot will not be part of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, unfortunately :(

We will be starting a separate Mortal Kombat: Arcade Kollection section soon.

I guess it's kinda a silly question, but was the original MK3 ever included in any re-release or it's always UMK3? I've been a big MK3 fan back in the day and it's weird to see it has this "we regret it" feeling and they backtracked it with UMK3...

@Danny, yes, there were many re-releases of Mortal Kombat 3. The game was included in:

- PC (Windows) - As part of Midway Arcade Treasures: Deluxe Edition
- Sony PlayStation 2 (As part of Midway Arcade Treasures 2)
- XBox (As part of Midway Arcade Treasures 2)
- Nintendo GameCube (As part of Midway Arcade Treasures 2)
- PlayStationPortable (As part of Midway Arcade Treasures: Extended Play)

But porting Mortal Kombat 3 just isn't worth the effort. Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 is everything Mortal Kombat 3 is, only with more balanced gameplay, characters and arenas. Well, ok, a story, bios and ending images are missing, that;s true.

Ah yes, I forgot about the Arcade Treasures. And while I do agree UMK3 is the more complete game, it's just that MK3 had a certain vision and feel that caused some controversy (because they tried not to simply recreate MK2), with UMK3 sometimes it feels they admitted defeat and regretted certain artistic decisions...
