The Capcom vs series were beast back then and they brought it back Marvel vs Capcom 3:Fate of two Worlds. I remember playing the first one and Street Fighter vs X-men on an arcade machine. I just mash buttons and pull off insane combos.

What other kind of fighting game is your favorite?

EDIT:I decided to add a poll to this. Here you vote on another franchise you like instead of a crossover with MK like the other post. I mean, come on, you can't always play Mortal Kombat. I need variety.

I'm not sure if I can pick a favorite. However, other ones that I do play include Tekken, Soul Calibur, Killer Instinct, Marvel Vs. Capcom, Street Fighter, King of Fighters, and Dead Or Alive. I'd have to go with Tekken if I had to choose a favorite other than Mortal Kombat. There are a lot of moves with characters that you can't learn them all unless you get constant practice every day of your life.

Hands down no Brainer would be Street Fighter II , not just cause I grew up playing SF II but it was the pioneer of 1 on 1 fighting games of all time, well technically it was Fighter Street which was the first street fighter but SF II went main stream & since SFII camedifferent fighting games like tekken, killer instinct, final fight, saumirai swords, MK, soul caliber, dead oir alive, and so on. If you look at every fighting game it's always based on SF II some how they have some sort of health meter, most of the time its best 2 out 3 rounds, combos system. Another Important thing also SF was the first to create moves depending on joystick movement with button combination to create moves. After Street fighter II my third fighting game would be World Heroes part 1, 2, and jet version it was slow but i liked it because they had a survival mode and it wouldnt go by rounds it would go by health meter and in order to get or obtain health you would have to damage your opponent so the health meter would go back and forth those matches sometimes lasted a while they would have traps in those modes.wish XBOX360 would be able to get those games and download them

I would have to say Tekken 3. This was the only fighting game besides Mortal Kombat that could impress me somehow. OK, may be Street Fighter II at the time. Tekken 3 was great. It had fluent motions and mobility and the characters were great. Hworang and Eddie Gordo were those I played with most.

I wish that game would have online play. The character I mainly used on there was Jin Kazama. I haven't played Tekken in a while though so I'm very rusty. Tekken is one of those unique fighter games where if you stop playing for even a day, you rust up.

Yeah, Tekken was fun and all, but it turns annoying once you go against someone who chose Eddie or Christie and keeps mashing the kick buttons. I'd always choose King or the other big guys. I don't even own the game anymore and I know just mash the punch buttons and practice a bit.

If any fighting game was a button masher, it was Soul Calibur IV. I should save the details for a worst fighting game of all time thread, but all the other games in the series are pretty awesome.

I don't know the fighting mechanics in Tekken 3 when you play against a human opponent. I aways played just for fun against the CPU, oh and yeah, King was great too.
