The first MK you have played...

I was just wondering which Mortal Kombat you have played first, before you got addicted.

Mine was the good old Mortal Kombat on super nintendo, it was censored (even in austria) but at that time i didn't know that, and some fatalities were actually pretty cool, scorpion's toasty was in, sub - zero freezes and smashes you. It was so f-ing awesome and i loved it from the first moment.



And then when i was 9 years old i got Mortal Kombat III, omfg! This was so awesome!
In the same year a friend showed me Mortal Kombat II, needless to say anything...

Since then i became a true MK fan, this is the only franchise which i am truly a fan of, bought every game and played it until i had blistered thumbs

Mine was Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance. I first played it at my friend's house, and then saw the Krypt extras and got me curious as to playing the older titles, which I like far better than the newer ones. Although MK (2011) isn't bad for a new title.

I got addicted to the series from MK Trilogy, which was aswell my first game

Mortal Kombat 1 for Arcade - Revision 3.0

UMK 3 for the Sega Genesis. I was about 6 years old at that moment and don't remember so good my first meeting with MK.

For me it was Mortal Kombat in the arcade. I was either 11 or 12 at the time and I was visiting my local arcade where I spent a lot of time. I went to the back to check out the side scrollers, and I saw a crowd around a machine near the arcade's entrance.

That machine was Mortal Kombat, and as I wandered over I heard those famous words: "Finish Him!" As I cleared the crowd, I was just in time to see Johnny Cage knock Raiden's head clean off. It blew my mind, and I was hooked. Never cared for fighting games before this and no other series from the genre has ever captured my attention.

I loved the digitized graphics, the more mature themes and story, and the more intuitive gameplay.

I picked up the home port on my Nintendo Game Boy, which was the only console I had at the time, and later on while also enjoying their arcade versions, I also picked up Mortal Kombat II on my Game Boy and then on my Super Nintendo Entertainment System which I had acquired a few months later. I also got Mortal Kombat 3 for my SNES.

I enjoyed Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 in arcades, but never bought the console version as I didn't want to by a re-release of a game I already owned, and I wasn't keen on Midway pulling a "Capcom." Shortly afterwards I got into PC gaming and first person shooters and after seeing and not liking Mortal Kombat 4, I bid the franchise farewell.

Back in 2004 when I picked up an Xbox I seriously considered getting Mortal Kombat: Deception but decided to pass (and still regret it to this day), but with the release of Mortal Kombat (2011) I've gotten back into things.

Also picked up Mortal Kombat vs. DC Universe last summer and enjoyed it as well.

MK1 Arcade is when it pulled me in. I think we had the 3.0 unit as well before it was updated with the revisions.
