Before I begin with this news I would like to say, that this is the 1000th news posted in the English version of Mortal Kombat Secrets. And we are all really happy that it has something to do with the old days. Netherrealm Studios has just provided us with renders of the four classic costumes for Scorpion, Reptile, Sub-Zero and Ermac. Enjoy:

i saw the sub-zero on a differant forum. i love it! he looks dead cold, ice blue eyes that slightly glow,and his mask has little mini icesikles.

Yep the image of Sub-Zero appeared earlier on BestBuy (if I am not mistaken), only it was much, much smaller.
The image of Ermac was also shown in the packaging details for the European Kollector's Edition, once again smaller.

Sub-Zero's classic costume is really great, minus the icicles on the mask. I think it goes too far. Same thing with his ice hands and forearms in previous games. The man is supposed to be the master of cold and ice, not be consumed by his powers. I am so happy that they are staying away from the ice arms this time.

well the ice grows on cryomancer arms after a certain age. but i like the ice on his mask. shows how cold he really is and since he can do the ice breath fatality it makes sence for him to be freezing his mask.

I agree about the mask. But for me it is like he is kind of losing control over his own powers. That is way I am really happy that they removed the frozen arms.

well... i can't argue any more,can't figure out any thing to use.
maybe the arm thing was that his skin becomes so cold that ice starts forming, or its the dragon medalions fault.

The Dragon Medallion significantly increased his powers, so yeah this was probably the reason for the arms.

Shaolin Monks does not really count as a canon Mortal Kombat game. If you think about it, there are so many differences between the story lines of MKII and MKSM.

Yes I'm also glad they removed the ice arms and the ugly designs like an oldman Sub-Zero ugh, but best of all... the KLASSIC ninja costumes are extras in this game! I loved the classic costumes, they were simple but that's the idea! you thought they all were the same cuz they looked the same until they started removing their mask or trowing stuff at you! cant wait to see people playing as them and showing homage to MK1, 2 and 3! super cool!

Many game companies these days are FINALLY listening to their fans and making their games live up more to the golden days, and I'm glad the MK team is doing the same! This game is showing sincere love and appreciation to the series and most of all the fans supporting it!

Time had to pass for this to happen.

If they have done this with Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance for example, people would have sait: "That's so lame, can't they think of anything new."

But I guess this is the perfect timing to rewrite everything, except Mythologies, which shouldn't be affected by the time travel of Raiden's message.
