If you can't believe us take a look here.Mortal Kombat Kompilation - At the last Electronic Entertainment Expo in May, a Midway representative gave us a strong indication that a Mortal Kombat compilation title was set to be released this holiday season. Obviously, that never came to be, but don't rule out the possibility just yet. While the Midway rep said the game would not be online, and he wasn't sure which MK titles would be featured, we can guess that the delay may have been caused by Ed Boon's intention to add online play to the title. It's all speculation at this point, but with a Dead or Alive compilation title releasing next year with online play, and MK6 heading online next year as well, it would make sense for Midway to test the online waters with Mortal Kombat Kompilation. If the title is indeed still on track, we would expect it to release several months before Mortal Kombat 6, in order to get the hype machine rolling.
Mortal Kombat 6 - Ed Boon and his team over at Midway created Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance from the ground up. Nothing was taken from previous Mortal Kombat games in order to provide a fresh take on the series. The game went on to sell over a million copies, so now Ed Boon and company are at it one more time. They're building Mortal Kombat 6 from the ground up. Nothing will be taken from Deadly Alliance. While virtually nothing is known about the title thus far, we do know that it will release in 2004, and it will feature online play. Xbox and PS2 versions of the game are almost certain, but a GameCube port may be unlikely given the online features. We can also safely assume that Scorpion and Sub-Zero will make a return since they're Ed Boon's favorite characters.
