Help me out here. What kind of the 2 Factor authentication are we talking about here. I use the Google Authenticator and haven't really used the other methods so I am not familiar with them. So what are the backup keys?

If someone will lock themselves out of their account because of 2-Factor, they can always contact me though the Contact Us-Form and I can help resolved the problem. Has happened on multiple occasions.

The backup keys are only when you forget your authenticator app. To sign in, you need to use the keys from the app, not the backup keys.
If you lost all backup keys, remove authenticator and add it again.

Not perfect, but definitely better than what we had before. According to the statistics it has prevented 17 bot registrations. I somehow don't believe that everything else above 90 were users but hey we have a single spam post in almost two weeks.
