Tutorial: Extracting, Modifying and Importing MK9 Textures
Re: Tutorial: Extracting, Modifying and Importing MK9 Textur
Hello guys.
Great thx for this tuto and all the answers. I try to make amoral mod to the steam-patched version and I've a Windows message in the "extract process" of Texture Tool (drop & drag). See attached file, sorry, in french.
"the version of this file is not compatible with the version of Windows you are using. Check your computer's system information to see whether you need an x86 ( 32-bit ) or x64 (64 bit) , and then contact the software publisher ." (google translate)
I use Windows 7 pro 64 and the Mk9TextureTool_V3 from this post.
It's no compatibility question (XP, vista,...), I tried this and the administrator one, but no way.
Any advice please ?

Hey guy's.. not much of a modder but found this tutorial very interesting. Was wondering if I could extract the 3D models of the characters using this process and how would I go about it?.. was hoping to use them in a project I'm working on. Thanks

Hi guys
sorry if my post is not fitting here but I've got some troubles with the NVIDIA DDS Plugin for Photoshop. I was working on Sub-Zero normal map to remove his scar in the face, everything looked fine in photoshop but after saving the picture as DXT5 with interpolated alpha and mipmaps the scar was back on the saved picture.
Before saving in PS: After saving: What I am doing wrong? Maybe I'm too blonde for that but this never happened before and I've edited a lot of textures with that plugin and never hand any troubles. Some suggestions? - Sry for my bad english here.
EDIT:
Alright I found the problem and now to answer my own question: All the height informations from the normal map was stored in the Alpha channel. After some closer looking in Photoshop I was able to split every layer into it's RGB. That worked pretty well so I was able to edit the alpha layer. After saving the pic everything looked like how it should.

Re: Tutorial: Extracting, Modifying and Importing MK9 Textur
if you mean the tool that decompresses and extracts files then the link it´s alright.. try downloading it with your antivirus turned off, as far as i know there are no viruses in them. my antivirus stopped the download giving me network error when i tested. They are .exe files so the problem must be there..
For the raptor race...

I have always problems with injecting Damage Maps on few mods. especially DLC for Sub Zero does not work with DDS Injector 1.2, 1.4 and 1.5. I'm searching for DDS Injector 1.3 but I can't find anything.
Can anybody help me please?

Re: Tutorial: Extracting, Modifying and Importing MK9 Textur
How do I make Kitana's costume, colored pink like Mileena?
But when I edit her
RetroNinja_Female_MK2_Diff
RetroNinja_Female_MK2_Pmsk
her color seems to be limited to blue/violet spectrum only:

I tried mixing everything: Hue, Saturation and Lightness but still no luck. Please help.

Re: Tutorial: Extracting, Modifying and Importing MK9 Textur
This is a fresh modding noob reporting in here. So I'm not sure if there's something I installed wrong. But I keep getting stuck at the part where you save your modified texture in Photoshop. I can't tell if I'm supposed to just save it by pressing the "Save button" or if the format on the screen has to be chosen separately. If I have to go with the "Save as" option, then I definitely don't have the right format. Any help? Thanks for ur time and thank u
