New Modding Method - Please Read and Follow \ NCM MOD LIST
So, we're now able to add costumes and characters to our game, yes you've read that correctly. So what's new?
Well this is my request, that all upcoming mods that support the New ability to be prefixed with [NCM] which means New Costume Mod. This means that your mod supports the new mods.
How to know if it does that? Simply you retexture a mod file, and you rename it to, CHAR_Mileena_X.xxx for example. Then you use the tool I made along with the PackageCloner (Read below for info) to add CHAR_Mileena_X to the game. Now your Mod Supports [NCM] and you reserve _X for Mileena.
This way people can download your Mod, use the tool and create a new costume.
I really hope everyone follows this rule.
Read more here and here.
Download the tool above!
List of All [NCM] Mods.
You are not FORCED to follow these, but they are just to avoid conflict. You can create an NCM when another NCM has the same letter if you want, but this way users will have to choose between your mods.
You can name them as _AA _AB _AC.....etc, however, you cannot let them appear in the player select screen unless you do some hardcore manual edits (Expand the offsets using my offset adjuster tool, and write the new names correctly.)
Reply with your mods names if you do, or release your mods with the tag [NCM]
Upcoming Reserved slots (this is for /u/blackknight7341 to see and help him):
Christmas Pack - UncleFestor - X
Horror Pack - UncleFestor - O

This is useful thanks
We usually just use DLC instead of SKIN. For example
Release title :
DLC: Headrot Mileena (Whatever)
When we're doing DLC Costumes & Characters we would use
DLC Costume :
or
DLC Character :

Well that works too, let's do a poll and see what people favor.
Re: New Modding Method - Please Read and Follow \ NCM MOD LI
Personally I grew accustomed to seeing the "DLC" prefix for MK9 skins. But at the same time I could see how NCM would work better in this scenario, because these signify the "new age" of MKX modding as you put it.
There wouldn't be any confusion whether these work on the 'vanilla' MKX or not because "NCM" would be a new abbreviation that would only be attached to these mods that follow the specific instructions in your other thread.
My vote is for [NCM].

+1
I Agree New naming scheme is definitely warranted.

I personally find DLC more user friendly.
Question about NCM. Imagine something new is found a couple of months from now. What will it be called NNCM? New, Next, etc. are tricky words when it comes to naming. Just a few things to think about.

Well it won't be NNCM because New Costume stands for the ability to ADD costumes into the game, hence they are considered "new costumes" to the game.Gambid wrote:I personally find DLC more user friendly.

New refers to it as being an Extra Costume, not new finding
Thanks for the sticky though.

Also now that I saw the "List of known Mods" (to avoid conflict)
we should make a new post about that where all the modders can write down the DLC skins that we make, so we keep a register of every DLC skin, made by every modder, like we did in the Injustice community

Hi guys, long time lurker first time poster. Back when KP1 was coming out I started a spreadsheet with all the skins with screenshots of the P1 and P2 versions of them that I shared on Reddit a few times which you can find here. I've started working on expanding it for mods now (will add the ones in the OP shortly after this post) and would be up for keeping it updated as a reference for everyone if you guys are interested?

Updated the spreadsheet with the story characters. One thing I noticed though is that unlike in MK9, none of them have P2 versions so the game just hangs when it tries to start a fight. Also could I get a link for that sub skin? I can't seem to find it.
