First mod I post here. Kinda wanting to learn a bit. but I feel all the good modders have left the stage. So I thought I'd share this one I made a while ago. I never wanted to post it, because I couldn't get the blades to work.

I'm saving the dds with the usual encoding BC3 / DXT5 and I use 'Generate mipmaps' to get the different scales and such. But I still get whit messed up fans instead of the black/leathery ones I was aiming for. These are the options I get for saving (using Gimp 2.10.12):

Compression:
BC1 / DXT1
BC2 / DXT3
BC3 / DXT5 <-- I use this
BC3nm / DXT5nm
BC4 / ATI1 (3Dc+)
BC5 / ATI2 (3Dc)
RXGB (DXT5)
Alpha Exponent (DXT5)
YCoCg (DXT5)
YCoCg scaled (DXT5)

Format:
Default <-- this should be fine I suppose
RGB8, RGBA8, BGR8, ABGR8, R5G6B5, RGBA4, RGB5A1, RGB10A2, R3G3B2, A8, L8, L8A8, AExp, YCoCg

"Generate mipmaps"

the mod. just replace CHAR_Kitana.xxx in your Asset folder (backup of course). it should be steam-compatible and playable online.

I just don't like it aesthetically, maybe others like your skin.
I think that in order to create a good skin, you should base yourself on skins already made from kitana to design a better one.

Found it. You have to use the compression level BCT1 / DXT1 for the KI_Fan_Diff and Spec dds-files. If anybody is interested. pm me. forum's dead anyway. :-(
