omg! to me they already f**ked up the movie just basing it on subzero. i have no problem on sub zero but please not relating to mythologies! oh god why would they do that???!!!! i thought it would be about mkd and armageddon. god i really hope this isnt the final confirmation . damn....

Actually, that was just a rumor with no traceable source whatsoever, and therefore false.
There's a big chance this movie will be based on Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon, however, this is not 100% cofirmed since the official plot is yet to be announced.
Since the official site (mortalkombat.com) hasn't been updated in 5 years, there's really no way to check the progress of this movie; all the others are just fansites with little or no credibility.

My thoughts: The producers (or prospective producers) are baffled! They want to at least create the demand, and they need ideas! Lots of them! Hollywood never gets people excited for nothing...they always have a plan to be profitable. And guess what? Thier ideas come for free, from you and me - from this sort of thing, so chat on my friends...somebody who's attached to the project is reading this craziness! The last movie was wrong, and they want to get this one right! By the time they release the next movie, even the nay-sayers will be curious enough to run to the theater on "Opening Weekend" (for GP and a bag of overpriced delicious popcorn) - and did I mention that their "GP" dollars will be added to the revenue, regardless of what kind of review they write after they pay to see the movie. Ca-Ching $$$$$$$$!!!!! This type of entertainment will never go away & has room for improvement. So...chat it up - tell them who you wanna see and what you wanna see, and when they'll produce it. Our job is to go to see if (at least some of) what we wanted is actually there! One step beyond these forums is to email the producers (or prospective producers). Give them your best monologue about who you wanna see & why you wanna see this project come to fruition. It's nice to swap fantasy stories in this forum, but when you make a move outside of the box and corner the execs - they won't ignore you if you can make some specific valuable comments (and there are so many floating out here in this arena). After-all...the Producers job is to deliver what we want (popular opinion), if they want the idea of it all to be profitable (and trust me - they do).

That's my story & (well, you know...) I'm sticking to it!
