i think it's a grate idea y not he fits right in... he does live in the dream realm an he feeds on soles....where u think mortal kombat got the idea...jk...lol and the way they have the story go is perfect. i think bring it on i love freddy an all of the hora movies not all but all the sick ones!!!! bring Jason to.... u can have Jason chase freddy into mortal kombat!!!!!! but make it sick characters not no street fighter not no dragon ball z not no baby shit strait sick guys .... an gals... its good u broke it up 3 mk and then guest do that all the time!!!

as Ed Boon said, they wanted to add a new character, Skarlet, returning from UMK3, Rain, returning from the last generation of games, Kenshi, and a gues character, Freddy. So that there is somerging for everyone.

Just because they add Freddy, doesn't mean that NRS are going to add more slasher killers. What's done is done. Freddy is in MK, and you can't do a thing about it. If you don't like him, don't buy him. You don't need to go raging like previous Freddy-hating commenters.

I don't think that the addition of Freddy has something to do with their inability to come up with characters. I think they did it, just because they though that he will be a great addition to the series and I am certain that he will be.

Wow, I didn't expect anyone to hate this. I am definitely getting Freddy! I haven't bought any of the other DLC characters cuz I feel 5 bucks is too much for them but for Freddy? Definately buying this! I guess I just like guest characters.

People are just upset about him because they expected some secret returning character like Motaro or Chameleon and not Freddy, but regardless, he's a nice little guest. He's from a horror film and now he can do what he does best - kill.
