Also according to the Tweet, fans who purchased tickets will get full refunds. Once again, the Final Kombat event itself will still be live-streamed as planned.
Author's opinion: These are sad news indeed, however, it is fully understandable. The people's safety and health should always come first before anything else, and both NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros have made the right decision. As for people who already booked a flight to the event or even already at the area, it could very possibly be that NRS and WB have tried extremely hard to find solutions to the problem and couldn't come up with any, hence the announcement in such a short time. Once again, the tickets will be fully refunded, and for everyone who are still not there yet other then the 16 players and staff, you can still cancel your flight booking.
Again this is fully understandable. With that being said, I'm very positive that the event will still be epic, and there is still a lot to look forward to in it, so stay tuned.
UPDATE:
According to a Tweet from Shang P, it has now been confirmed that all travel and accommodation costs, such as hotel bookings, will be refunded as well.
These are great news indeed. Good to see that they try to compensate everyone for their financial expenses for the event.
