Over the last 5 years, one guest character was suggested to appear in
NetherRealm Studios games to a huge degree, that character was Spawn. And despite Spawn winning a poll made by
Mortal Kombat Co-Creator and head of
NRS Ed Boon for the most wanted non-
MK guest character for
Injustice 2, he didn't make the final cut. Instead, out of the characters in the poll, it was Hellboy who appeared in
Injustice 2. That only made sense, as Spawn is such a gory and brutal character that he will fit perfectly in a
Mortal Kombat game.
Earlier today,
Todd McFarlane, Spawn's creator, was hosting an AMA (Ask Me Anything) on Reddit and a fan asked him a question for which McFarlane had this answer:
So yes, McFarlane's answer to the question of Spawn making it to
Mortal Kombat 11 shows that it is very likely to happen.
Of course, nothing has been officially confirmed by any party, but considering for how long Spawn was teased and asked to be in a
Mortal Kombat game, and that a new Spawn movie is coming to theaters next year (which is the same year that
MK11 will also be released), it only makes sense for the character to appear in
MK11. We shall see in the coming weeks if it is indeed true.
