Could we speculate that this is a different ninja that's using the name "Sub-Zero" who's related to Bi-Han and Kuai-Liang? Both Noob Saibot and Cyber Sub-Zero died in MK9 and it would be lazy on NRS's part to say, "Oh, they came back to life?"
Hell, it would be cooler (pun intended) if it was just a Lin Kuei ninja who took the name, like a protege, who became Lin Kuei Grandmaster.
