In a press release Netherrealm Studios announced the official start of the new Mortal Kombat (2011) website. It was also announced that server issues are slowing the launch, but we were informed that these will be resolved shortly. From the press release:

A first for the franchise, www.themortalkombat.com will showcase six legendary characters including Scorpion, Sub-Zero and Mileena giving fans an unprecedented look into their unique history and backgrounds. The site will also feature a full arsenal of kommunity features including: MKasts, discussion boards and Kombat Chat. The site will be updated every Monday in conjunction with Mortal Mondays.
