Boys Kill Friend Using Mortal Kombat Technique

A 14 year old boy was killed Saturday in a town called Latvia by a group of friends who used a Mortal Kombat technique on him. Below is a part of the story:

A 14-year-old schoolboy has been brutally killed in Latvia's north-eastern town of Valmiera by friends who say they were inspired by a video game, a spokeswoman for the police in Riga said Tuesday.

The five boys, aged 13 to 16, were arrested Sunday by the police of this town of 43,000 inhabitants 120 kilometres (74 miles) north of the capital in connection with the murder which occurred on Saturday, the spokeswoman said.

They explained that "they used techniques borrowed from the video game 'Mortal Combat' in dealing with their victim", the spokeswoman, Kristine Mezaraupa said.

That was a wrong joke. Some kids killed a guy with MK techniques! They said that they beat him up using MK styles like Hapkido and threw him into the river.

i am also really sorry for what happened ... those boys were mentally sick ..you cant fully blame the videogame for their actions...this is yet another painful signal that kids today are exposed to all kinds of unappropriate messages for their age...violence,pornography..which leads to all kinds of deviant behaviour... or tragedies like this one .Rest in peace kid,we know youre happy up there in heaven..

It is no tthe video game's fault, it is the person who let teh children see those things. And the children itself because the person was the one who chose to do what he did.

I blame the kids not the videogames. It's them who thought of doing something really really stupid like that. I hate criminals. Espicially those who blame something else to cover their own ASS!!! I'm sorry. I just... hate crime. This one time, some wife blamed an anonomous black person for the murder of her daughter. Police useing obvious evidence found out, it was her, who killed he own daughter. Isn't that sick? I don't believe in the Death Sentence. My dad is a lawyer. He's seen this type of stuff where someone blames it on someone that they never knew existed and then they find a guy that matches the description and they didn't do anything. It's just awful. I don't think it was the videogame either.
