i just bought MK 1, 2 and 3 complete with evrey thing for my SEGA gennie, and looking at the reviews from people evreyone recemends the 6 button controller but i only have the original 3 button controller... will the 3 button still work? has anyone used the 3 button? will it still work to make Kombos? or do i need to save up and wait longer :'( i also didn't know what was better the SNES or my Gennie since i'm more attached to my Gennie i got it for the Gennie not knowing about the 6 button... i also have a game genie so i can practice with out diying 10 seconds into the game... i really suck at MK i just beaten Shao Kahn on beginer for mk9 for the first time  _________________

Yes, the 3-Button Controller will work. However things would be much simpler with a 6-Button controller.
There are key combinations for performing the moves for which a button is missing and Mortal Kombat II has a special 3-Button layout in the settings menu which is, if I am not mistaken the default layout.
The Genesis versions are better than the SNES version in terms of dynamics and vividness but the SNES versions do look better.
I am attached to the Genesis versions as well.

thanks for the info  i got the person to ship it first class hopefully its here soon i saw on a video of a Ferality thing what is all that about i never heard of it is it a game glitch or a game genie code or something? _________________

If you have the money, get a 6-button controller, it will really make a difference.

well, got my games yesterday i only so far tried MK 1 but the gmaeplay is SO much diffrent then my other mk games even from Umk3 on my DS maybe its i'm not used to the Gennie controller? i only played MK on the ps 2,3 and ds idk why its just so diffrent the AI seemes harder looks like i have some practceing to do oh well at least liuy is there i can't seem to do kombos tho _________________

Awesome! Im stuck with my 3 button right now :S Kombos are possible, there just REALLY hard to do!

i have a SNES also but whats MK without blood and gore? i think they fixed it up in MK2 and 3 but i'm not sure? so i just got it on my SEGA instead. i never saw a MK1 plugN play not even online but then i didnt look

Nintendo WERE strict about there gaming back then, they only wanted 12 and under gaming, mortal kombats blood and fatalities were erased so they could make it just up to 11+OK or whatever...

that kinda sucks it's not rly MK with no blood... i'm having troubles with fatalitys ect. with the short time it seemes i don't have the right button kombo... my move list says (picked a random friendship) F,B,B,B,LK what button is LK? i don't rly get it (oh this is mk 2... _________________
