Why is it that in MK 1 Johnny Cage can tea bag everyone except Sonya so everytime someone one was johnny cage and fighting Sonya she had an advantage over Johnny cage cuz she was immune to that move, I guess back then game designers had manners

Well, I would say that some sort of advantage is in order, which isn't the case with MK9.

If someone punches you in the nuts it would hurt a lot more than when a woman gets punched at the same place of her body.

BTW this was exactly the same in MKII. Kitana and Mileena were immune to this move.

For example the properties of the move in question and everything related to the move and or other properties of the character.

Please stay on topic and if you don't have something to discuss, just let the topic die instead of going off topic. This doesn't help increasing the quality of the boards.

More interesting for those who aren't aware is that Sonya wasn't originally part of the game. Sonya was added at almost the last moment. That is why early versions of the game had Sonya screaming like a guy when you knocked her into The Pit.

Sonya is severely weak in the Sega Master System and Amiga version against the CPU. She is also very weak against Goro (its more luck than skill to win against him)

Haven't heard someone mentioning these two versions in ages. It is nice to see someone still knows they exist :)

Can't really remember how Sonya played in the Sega Master System version as it is everything else but a quality port. Still looks impressive for its time though.

The main problem with the Sega Master System port in general is that at Hard Difficulty, the endurance are almost impossible to defeat without using the cheap jump kick corner tactics that is also present in the SNES port. Unlike the other fighters, Sonya is unable to do this tactics, along with her weak move , make it impossible for now to beat at hard difficulty. The same apply to the Amiga version, I didn't put a run of Sonya on those because of how frustating and difficulty it is.
