There will be a lot more cameos.

Not only from the MK but also from the DC side.

Johnny Cage, Aquaman, Goro and Robin all make appearance in the comic book, which means that Midway probably has the rights for these characters, which mean that they may also appear in Story Mode and later as Downloadable content. No official word on this one yet.
