Janet Cage Kameo Official Release Date Has Been Revealed

A quick update everyone. The official Mortal Kombat X (formerly Twitter) page has just announced the official release date for Janet Cage, the next Kameo fighter for Mortal Kombat 1 (2023). Janet will officially released on 03.27.2024.

Ed Boon also came in to share the news.
Be sure to be ready for action, because Janet Cage surely will.

Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) Patch Notes - 03/06/2023

Out of nowhere, Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) has received a new patch. This patch is a small one this time around, coming to all platforms (PS5, XBS, PC and Switch) and focuses on balance changes and bug fixes.

Here are the patch notes:

General Fixes & Adjustments
  • Delayed when players can move in Round 2 & later by 29 frames to match Round 1


Character Specific Adjustments
Main Fighters
Johnny Cage
  • The Bee's Knees (Down + Front Punch) now has 7 startup frames (up from 6)
  • Rough House (Front Punch, Front Punch) is now +1 on block (down from +3)
Kenshi
  • Slightly reduced the damage done on block by Ancestor’s Attacks
Raiden
  • Reduced the damage done on block by Electromagnetic Storm & Enhanced Electromagnetic Storm
Peacemaker
  • Fixed Force Multiplier not enabling Auto Block leading to unintended linked combos
  • Slightly increased the combo damage multiplier on Force Multiplier
  • The Eagley cooldown after blocking Ground-Air Offensive & Beautiful Bird Bullet is now the same as when they hit or miss (3 seconds)
  • The Eagley cooldown after Eagley assists during Shove is now 2 seconds (up from 0.5 seconds)
Kameo Fighters
Kung Lao (Kameo)
  • Slightly increased the cooldown & slightly reduced the recharge rate of Buzz Saw when held
Stryker (Kameo)
  • Reduced the recharge rate of Low Grenade Toss to match High Grenade Toss

MK1 (2023) Patch Notes - 02/28/2024 - Klassic Male Ninja Skins Included

The latest patch for Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) has just arrived and so are the patch notes. This patch is currently for PS5, XBS, Steam and EGS.

Of course, the main notes from this patch are the additions of Peacemaker and Janet Cage Kameo to the game as well as the addition of Krossplay between PS5, XBS and PC Steam, as well as an all new season for Invasions mode with multiple updates. Other notes are Bug fixes, updates to training mode and to online.

However, there's one more surprise that no one saw coming. As it turns out, we are also getting some klassic skins to the game's store. These are the klassic male Ninja skins for Reptile, Scorpion and Smoke from Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3, as well as the Unmasked Sub-Zero skin for Sub-Zero from vanilla Mortal Kombat 3. This is a pleasant surprise indeed, surely fitting for such a big update as this for MK1 (2023).

As of the writing of this post, only the vanilla MK3 Sub-Zero skin is available, so make sure to check the store for whenever the other skins will be in it.

  • Increased Fighter & Kameo Mastery XP & item rewards from Encounters in the Gateway Mesa
  • Removed negative passive bonuses from some Relics
  • Konsumables with Stat Bonuses are now rewarded in more areas
  • Krowns can now be rewarded for defeating Major Enemies
  • Relic & Talisman Buy & Sell prices are now affected by Level & Rarity
  • Fixed end of round slow motion happening on certain attacks when there could be more opponents left to fight in the encounter

Tanya
  • Spinning Splits Kick and (Air) Spinning Splits Kick can now hit the opponent’s Kameo

  • New move Zone of Waste added. It creates a zone that drains meter from the opponent and if the opponent stands in it for an extended period Quan Chi will briefly gain armor

  • Zone of Fear & Zone of Power along with Zone of Waste can now be active at the same time
  • Field of Bones & Enhanced Field of Bones now activates the cage trap if the opponent blocks the attack

  • Kameo Meter color now changes when Ground Pound is active
  • Adjusted AI behavior when it tries to avoid Ground Pound
Kano (Kameo)
  • Fixed visual issues with several Fighters’ weapons during the Eye Laser and Forward Throw animations
Kung Lao (Kameo)
  • Fixed animation issue when the Spin is blocked at far ranges
Motaro (Kameo)
  • Fixed rare issue with Reflect which could cause some projectiles to still be reflected after it hits a main character
Scorpion (Kameo)
  • The main character will now pass through other characters when pulled by Get Over Here
  • Fixed visual issue with Hell Blades brutality causing the victim to move in certain circumstances
Shujinko (Kameo)
  • When morphing into the opponent Shang Tsung's kameo and using the full Kameo Meter, Shujinko will return to his normal state
  • Stolen Kitana Fan-Nado can now be directed close or far
  • Fixed issue causing Kopy Kat & Mimic to increase the hype meter for Johnny Cage when used
  • Fixed visual issues with using Reptile Invisibility and Stolen Acid Spit at the same time
Sub-Zero (Kameo)
  • Fixed rare issue with Arctic Armor not deactivating when hit by low attacks in certain circumstances
  • Fixed lingering visual effects appearing after missing Fatal Blow
Tremor (Kameo)
  • Fixed issue with Tremor still being vulnerable to attacks after using Crystal Armor and disappearing
  • Fixed Rolling Rock visual effects lingering after it collides with Sub-Zero's Ice Klone
Khameleon (Kameo)
  • HUD weapon icon will now pulse to indicate Disguise is about to change
  • Slightly increased damage scaling on Glaive, Roll, & Fan Lift when used in a combo
  • Fan Lift will now work on characters that have projectile immunity active
  • Fixed Breaker being possible while Khameleon is on cooldown
  • Using Khameleon Roll & Mileena Roll in the same combo will no longer cause alternate hit reaction
  • Fixed visual issue that could cause weapons to appear incorrectly in Tower victory cinematic

MK1 (2023) Kombat Kast #7: Peacemaker, Janet Cage, Krossplay And More

We now have the newest Kombat Kast for both Peacemaker and Janet Cage Kameo in Mortal Kombat 1 (2023), which showcased not only the new characters, but also information about Krossplay, as well as some balance changes and much more.

Kombat Kast Summary

Krossplay
  • Krossplay is coming to PS5, XBS and PC today, 02.28.2024
  • You will be able to use Krossplay feature in Kasual matches, Kombat League and Private matches, and there will be leaderboard stats across all supported platforms.
Balance changes
  • Kenshi has received some nerfs, including to his Sento stance
  • Quan Chi has received a new move called Zone of Waste, which drains the opponent's Super Meter as long as he stands next to it. Quan Chi also has a hit of Armor will doing this move.
  • Quan Chi can also now summon multiple portals of different types at once.
Bug fixes
  • Fixe a rare issue of a timed mis-match at the start of a round
  • Fixed a bug with Havik that allowed his opponent to hit him an Ambush Kameo move out of his B2,2, 1 +3 String
Combo Trials
  • Adding a 9th Combo Trial to all the characters, all include Shujinko Kameo. Some will be easy and others will be challenging.
Training mode
  • Added the ability to practice character-specific mechanics right from the get go, such as Johnny Cage's Hype state and Shang Tsung's young/old morphs
Invasions Mode
  • This upcoming Season will be the Season of the Huntress, with Mileena being the final boss.
  • All Skins in this season will be inspired by the Flash Pits stage, making all characters to look like Flash Pits versions of themselves.
  • Some updates to the HUD during matches such as modifier icons in, level indicators and character element type indicators.
  • Some of the debuffs from Relics have been removed, making them having only buffs.
  • Diminishing returns for XP gaining for both main roster characters and Kameos have been removed, now there's a single completion XP gain, allowing players to get XP much faster
  • A new Seasonal Tower has been added. Unlike in previous Seasons, this Seasonal Tower starts at level 30, so you should go to it only after you've finished all the Season-specific Mesas. You will also gain XP a lot faster in this Tower since the completion XP gain based on first time encounters. And of course there will be new Skins to unlock only via this Tower only.
  • There will be more drops for buff Herbs and boosters, so will be able to get more stat points and resistances to certain element types.
Peacemaker
  • Peacemaker is generally a Brawler type character with ways to get-in on the opponent and get combo opportunities, although he does have some long range options as well.
  • Peacemaker can call Eagly to attack the opponent as a projectile. There's a hidden cooldown for Eagly though, so you can't spam the move.
  • Eagly can also attack the opponent's Kameo, and the Kameo will run away if Eagly stays on the attack long enough.
  • Peacemaker has the Blow Dart special move, which Peacemaker can hold and dash-cancel out of.
Janet Cage
  • Janet Cage has a lot of classic Johnny Cage moves, including the Shadow Kick, Nut Punch and even the Force Ball.
  • Janet Cage's Nina Mime move can block all types of attacks, both physical moves, special moves and projectiles.
  • Janet Cage's has special stance called Stunt Double, which allows her to say on the screen and enhance her partner's offense and combos. This stance however drains her Kameo meter over time.
  • Janet Cage also has a special taunt that she can do while Stunt Double stance to gain some Kameo meter back. The main character can then protect her will she does the taunt, adding a new layer of team work between the main character and Janet Cage.

Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) Invasions Mode - All Pokémon Elements

As we are preparing for the next update for Mortal Kombat 1 (2023) tomorrow, we got another thing to show you today, courtesy of yours truly.

The Mortal Kombat series is well known for it's rich and robust array of single player modes over the series, from the classic Arcade mode to it's genre-defining fully-cinematic story modes. MK1 (2023) continues this array with a brand new single player mode known as Invasions mode. However, I personally don't think that people in the MK internet community fully understands this mode, so I want to take this opportunity to elaborate on it.

As we all know, Invasions mode in MK1 (2023) is a board-game like mode that contains a whole bunch of elements from all previous MK games. It has a tile-based movement system that is similar to Mortal Kombat: Deadly Alliance (although it's also inspired by the board-game movement in the World of Light mode in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, so it's a combination of both), the chests for unlockables from the Konquest modes in both Mortal Kombat: Deception and Mortal Kombat: Armageddon as well as the Krypt over the years, the Test Your Might mini game, Endurance Matches (both from original Mortal Kombat 1), the Survival mini games that are inspired by the various challenges in the Challenge Tower in Mortal Kombat 9 (2011), the various modifiers that have been in all MK games ever since the Test Your Luck mode in MK9 (2011), and the Towers, which once again have started since the Challenge Tower in MK9 (2011), and come both in individual Towers and also the Gateway Towers, which are the timed-based Towers that started since the Living Towers in Mortal Kombat X.

However, there are elements from another franchise that are baked into Invasions mode, a franchise that you won't expect to be integrated into a single player mode in a Mortal Kombat game: the Pokémon series.

As if having an MK reference in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet wasn't enough for a connection between the two, MK1 (2023) went on to make Invasions mode a full-on RPG mode with stats just like any RPG game, including the Pokémon main-series games. But also, there are elements in Invasions mode that are clearly inspired by the Pokémon main-series games specifically.

So, in celebration of Pokémon day, which is today, I've decided to gather all of the Pokémon elements in MK1 (2023)'s Invasions mode in video form, so you all can see them for yourselves.
