Forums Rules And New Staff Membersby Gambid on Aug 22, 2004 :: 0
We finally finished our work on the Mortal Kombat Secrets Forums' Rules. We created a new board category, where you can find the Rules, information on the Warning System we use, and more about our members ranks and user groups.
I also would like to introduce you our new staff members, the forums moderators ded_ and MiNeOuT. They both will make sure, that the rules of our community will not be broken by any member.
The guests in our Messege Board can post replies no longer. Now they can only view, what is written. An e-mail validation is also required if you want to register.
The profiles of our new staff members can be seen in our updated Staff section.
Mortal Kombat: Deception On GameCube In 2005by Gambid on Aug 21, 2004 :: 10
IGN published an interview with Steve Allison, who confirmed that there will be a GameCube version of Mortal Kombat: Deception in early 2005. Below is a part of the interview:
IGN: What made you decide to announce a GameCube version of Mortal Kombat: Deception?
Steve: Midway has a lot of GameCube fans and as you pointed out in your first question, it's upwards of 300,000 plus on GameCube worldwide. Again the decision to hold or delay Deception from the GameCube platform was really driven from a need to turn the team's focus towards getting online gameplay solved on the PlayStation 2 and Xbox…in the end, the team's theory of getting Deception working flawlessly online for both proved absolutely true.
IGN: When do the PS2 and Xbox versions of the game ship and when will the GameCube one come out?
Steve: PS2 and Xbox will be available Oct 4th, 2004; GameCube will be available in early 2005.
IGN: Who is the development team for the GameCube version?
Steve: Midway's internal MK team, the same team who is now completing Deception on the other two platforms, is also doing the GameCube version in our Chicago studios.
IGN: Do you plan to include any console-specific changes for the GCN build of MK: Deception?
Steve: There will be one or two GameCube specific surprises, yes. But we won't reveal those right now. Stay tuned.

Midway Unveils Game Stars Live 2004 Line-Upby Gambid on Aug 20, 2004 :: 0
Team XBox posted news regarding the upcoming Game Stars Live Expo in the UK. Here is a part of the article:
Midway Games has confirmed that it will be showcasing three stunning games at Game Stars Live 2004: NBA Ballers, PSI-Ops: The Mindgate Conspiracy, and an exclusive UK premiere of Mortal Kombat: Deception.
The latest offering from the massively successful long-running Mortal Kombat franchise, MK: Deception will be available for the UK public to play for the first time in the Over-18 zone at Game Stars Live 2004. Want to try your luck against Sub-Zero, Scorpion or Raiden? Brace yourself for some serious martial arts-style fighting that will appeal to longtime Mortal Kombat fans and next-generation gamers alike. MK: Deception is also the first 3D combat game to feature online gameplay for both PS2 and Xbox consoles.
"Game Stars Live is shaping up to be THE consumer show for gamers," commented Matt Broughton, European Marketing Director, Midway Games. "We're very excited to showcase our titles in front of such a keen audience, especially Mortal Kombat Deception – on-site and available to play a full two months before release. Coupled with 10/10-scoring Psi-Ops, we're sure these titles will draw crowds to the Over-18 zone."
Game Stars Live is a brand new computer and video games exhibition, taking place at ExCeL in London's Docklands on 1-5 September. Other exclusive game premieres include Halo 2 and Pro Evolution Soccer 4, whilst the event will also play host to the European Online Gaming Championships.
