flash. The URL is

The First MK: Deception Trailer
Posted On: Feb 26 2004, 09:35 PM
GameSpot updated their site with a lot of information and a trailer
for the new Mortal Kombat game. Here is a part from the article:
As with every installment in the series, our
first viewing of the trailer had us looking out for which fighters we
recognized. The heavily edited clip and the grainy filter used to give
the piece a nicely gritty look made it a challenge to single out
everyone, but we feel pretty confident in naming a few folks. Baraka is
back in all his toothy, blade-wielding glory. Three ninjas in the clip,
each bearing one of the three colors from the classic MK ninja rainbow,
make it pretty obvious some old friends are also returning. The first
two ninjas appear to be Scorpion and Sub-Zero, and it looks like they're
sporting fashionable updates of their classic looks. The third ninja,
clad in red, is what we would certainly like to hope is Ermac. Mileena
is also back, in what appears to be two purple outfits. While a
variation on her original togs is in the mix, a new Jennifer
Lopez-inspired ensemble is also on hand. It should be noted that both
outfits appear to possess powerful magical properties, as they hang
tough to Mileena's junk real good, even in the midst of combat. We also
caught a few flashes of other characters who were harder to identify. A
very brief flash of a battle between two characters toward the end of
the trailer shows what could be Nightwolf; it's a stretch, we know, but
we could swear we see deerskin boots and a tomahawk. As for the second
fighter, clad in white with a funky hat, we're not sure. The color
scheme is wrong for Raiden, unless he's gotten a makeover, which is
possible. The last potential member of the cast--which we'll admit is a
long shot, but we'll throw it out there anyway--could be Shao Kahn.
During the dramatic cuts in parts of the trailer, a very Shao Kahn-like
helmet appears several times. We never actually see him in action at
all, so we may be stoking the sure-to-be-busy rumor mill, but we'd like
to think that we know our skull-shaped metallic helmets pretty well.
...
As for the arenas you'll be duking it out in, we saw precious little of
these environments, although we did pick out what appeared to be six
different areas. We already briefly touched on an arena set atop a large
pillar in the midst of an abyss. You can see mountains and a temple in
the distance. Another arena with a similar theme is set atop the roof of
a building during a rain shower. Yet another arena appears to be set in
a good old apocalyptic wasteland, complete with bodies on pikes. The
last few areas we saw offered a change of pace from the unholy locales.
A factory, complete with the pool of flaming hot lava you always seem to
find in them, was briefly shown. The interior of a castle, which seems
to have troublesome floors, was on display as well. The most intriguing
of the areas shown has a nice Hellraiser touch in the form of bodies
apparently swinging from chains. We'll be curious to see if the corpses
wind up being interactive during combat.

No Online Mode For GameCube
Posted On: Feb 26 2004, 08:31 PM
Mortal Kombat Secrets was one of the first
to inform you that there will probably be no version of Mortal Kombat:
Deception on Nintendo GameCube. We posted this news four months ago.
According to the latest information the situation has not been changed.
The only sure thing for now is that if MKVI comes out on GameCube it
will not include online play. A GameCube version is still possible to be
released, but this decision awaits to be taken. Keep checking for future
information about the GameCube version of the game.

First Mortal Kombat: Deception Render
Posted On: Feb 12 2004, 01:12 PM
It's finally here. The first official Mortal
Kombat: Deception render. Midway confirmed that the render is not fake
and that means that Baraka will be one of the characters that will
appear in the next Mortal Kombat game.
The both of them are still only a redirection to Midway's official
website but this will be changed soon. This once again proves that the
next Mortal Kombat Game is going to be called Mortal Kombat:
Deception.
Exclusive First Look In The April issue
of PSM
Posted On: Feb 10 2004, 02:39 PM
The April issue of
PSM Magazine will probably have an exclusive first look at the next
Mortal Kombat game. This has been mentioned by Randy Nelson on their
website. Here is the text of the news:
April '04 Issue: You Will Freak
January 30: Okay, okay... if you're a loyal subscriber, you've just
gotten our March 2004 issues in your mailbox. Have you gotten to the
final page yet? If so, I bet you're wondering what we'll have in the
April issue that's so secret, we've taken a blood oath not to speak its
name before you've gotten your mitts on the issues. Well, you see, blood
oaths are pretty big deals, so I can't really spill anything on the big
surprise. But I can guarantee you will get the most in-depth exclusive
first look at a game we've ever delivered. And not just any game — a
REALLY big game. Okay, I can say its a sequel. To a REALLY good game.
We've seen it, played it, come away dizzy — but no one else has. But
that's all I can divulge. So, in short, there is a very real reason to
get psyched for the April '04 issue of PSM, on sale or in your mailbox
in late March. I promise. Randy Nelson
As you can see the title of the game is not metioned but we are sure
that it will be Mortal Kombat 6. So keep checking for future updates!

A few days ago the old domain name becomes unuseable. So we had to

planned so we couldn't inform all of you about it. The .com domain will
probably be active again in August this year. So we will have both .com
