Mortal Kombat 30th Anniversary Ultimate Bundle Available for Pre-Order in UK
by Gambid on Aug 21, 2022 :: 9Mortal Kombat's 30th Anniversary is almost upon us and fans have eagerly been awaiting something exciting from WB Games and Netherrealm Studios for the joyous occasion.
So far fans have learned about the upcoming release of the third animated movie, Mortal Kombat Legends Snow Blind. We also just saw the re-release of Mortal Kombat Trilogy for modern Windows platforms on GOG. Both events happened with little to no word/acknowledgement from WB Games and Netherrealm Studios. Any connection to Mortal Kombat's 30th Anniversary has not been made.
During the last few days rumors for a Mortal Kombat 30th Anniversary Ultimate Bundle have been spreading online and today Amazon.co.uk made this bundle available for pre-order. Have a look at some of the images:
The bundle is available for XBox One/Series consoles and PlayStation 5 and includes Mortal Kombat 11 Ultimate and an exclusive Steelbook 4K Ultra HD version of the Mortal Kombat (2021) movie. Have a look at the official information from Amazon for the PlayStation 5 version:
We are still expecting an official announcement regarding the release and whether it is going to be available in other territories. Strangely a PlayStation 4 bundle is thus far missing. The bundle is expected to be released on September 26, 2022 in the UK.

Mortal Kombat 2021 Movie Sequel Officially Confirmed
by Roy Arkon on Jan 26, 2022 :: 1As reported by Deadline, a sequel to the 2021 Mortal Kombat movie has officially been confirmed. As stated, the studio has hired Jeremy Slater as the writer for the movie. Slater was the head writer for the Marvel/Disney+ series Moon Knight, and also worked on other projects such as Uprising, Thread and The Tommyknockers adaptation.
The producer of the previous film, Todd Garner, also confirmed the news on Twitter, as well as that the crew is working hard to make sure that the wait will be worth it.

Mortal Kombat Gave HBO Max Its Most Watched Opening Movie Weekend Yet
by Gambid on Jan 5, 2022 :: 2For 2021 Warner Bros. made a decision to release all of its 2021 movies simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. This in an attempt to boost the number of HBO Max subscribers and to compensate for the situation in cinemas around the world during the year. The decision was met with criticism by the industry around the world, forcing Warner Bros to negotiate compensations with a lot of people in front and behind the camera.
One of the affected movies was the then upcoming Mortal Kombat 2021 movie, which indeed premiered simultaneously in theaters and on HBO Max. In theaters the movie enjoyed a great opening weekend but then suffered major losses of viewership, resulting in $83.6 million in revenue at the global box office against a $55 million budget. Not that bad considering the circumstances. Critics and fans were also divided in their reactions, resulting in overall mixed reviews.
Little was known about the movies performance on HBO Max so far. Business Insider has now released a ranking of all movies released on the service and their performance during the first (opening) weekend. In this regard, Mortal Kombat takes the top spot with 3.8 million households who tuned in. Here is a list of the first five:
