Games Convention 2008 - Interviews - Hector Sanchez

Hector Sanchez Interview Transcript
taken August 21st, 2008
by Gambid

Part 1 - Part 2 - Part 3
Part 4 - Part 5 - Part 6

Gambid: OK, now some Storymode/story questions.

Hector Sanchez: OK.

Q6: Gambid: Will Mortal Kombat VS. DC Universe have bios for the playable characters or are you going to tell the story behind the game in Story/Konquest Mode, like it was made in Mortal Kombat: Armageddon.

A6: Hector Sanchez: You know, we haven't decided how we are going to handle bios yet. I know that there is a few bios written, as a prototypes right now but as we get closer to the game we will make that decision finally. Right now you know who Liu Kang is, you know who Scorpion is, you know who Superman is. Nothing that we say you, that's not changing they are still the same characters.

Q7: Gambid: Question 7. Will there also be cameo appearances on DC side?

A7: Hector Sanchez: Oh... ah... Let's see, will there be. I cannot answer that question. Mey be. How about that?

Gambid: I accept that.

Q8: Gambid: There will be a comic book released with the Kollectors Edition of the game. Are there any talks with DC Comics, someone else or just in the team about releasing a series (based on this game)? Who owns currently the rights?

A8: Hector Sanchez: Wow... that's a great, that's a great, great question, I wish I can talk about it. I am not... I cannot confirm, nor deny any rumors about a Mortal Kombat comic book series.

Q9: Gambid: Question 9. Are there any plans to fix all plot holes that exist because of the lack of bios in Armageddon.

A9: Hector Sanchez: There is actually no plot holes for MK VS. DC because this is not canon. This does not take place after Mortal Kombat...

Gambid: I mean in the Mortal Kombat World.

Hector Sanchez: Well, yea, you know what, we don't know when this kind of thing takes place, so say like there was no bio for MK: Armageddon for such and such character, we never say when this game takes place. It doesn't take place during any time anyway so plot holes that exist in the Mortal Kombat universe have no effect on this game so...

Gambid: So, will they be fixed in time, in the future...?

Hector Sanchez: Ah... are you asking if we are ever going to redo the bios for Armageddon?

Gambid: Not redo, just somehow explain what happened?

Hector Sanchez: You know, that's a good idea and I will let Ed know about it, that you know if enough fans really want us to kind of like lay it all together and make this kind of thing...

Gambid: Actually lots of fans care about it.

Hector Sanchez: Totally, we will actually look into that and we will see how we can incorporate it into the game.

Gambid: This was the last story question, now the gameplay.
