Post by Gambid »

PlayStation.Blog has reported that Senior Vice President of Worldwide Studios Europe Michael Denny presented the new PlayStation Vita at the PlayStation Vita event in London. The unveiled information includes the Launch Line-up for the new handheld system and additional third-party titles that are currently in development. One of this titles is a Mortal Kombat game, called Mortal Kombat: Vitality.

Is this a PS Vita port of this years Mortal Kombat 9 (2011) or a brand new entry in the series? Except for being in development, nothing else is currently known about the game.

Thanks to Jose Francisco Beltran for the heads up on this story.

I don't think it is MK9 port. Vita needs for exclusives and doing MK9 port on this one makes no sence. So, if it is will be the MK9 port, they maybe do something like MK: Unchained, MK9 but with new features.

MKU was basically MKD for GameCube, I think Vitality will be kinda PS3 version of MK9 with all dlc and/or skin packs included...

Making an exclusive separate MK game for a portable console while the current home consoles are still strong is bad and wrong move for the franchise.

If I have to guess, I would say that it will be a MK9 port with some exclusive stuff.

Vita will be still new and making a new game wouldn't be a wise management decision.

Didn't the timeline change prevent the events of armageddon? The series got a reboot so in this future, the DA may haven't been formed and the Events of D/U may have never happened either.
I'm still crossing my fingers for a new release

I know I shouldn't trust Wikipedia, but I found this at NRS article:
Mortal Kombat: Hard Core Edition (2012) (PlayStation Vita)
What the Netherrealm~ I mean, hell?
Kano. Liu Kang. Raiden. Johnny Cage. Scorpion. Sub-Zero. Sonya.

Test your might.
