Then try putting it on one round to make it easier. Also, a low attack might bait him or an uppercut.

I was unaware that you could adjust the number of rounds. Can you please tell me where I can do so?

I do not think you can do this, not 110% percent but pretty confident. (UMK3)

But a nice strategy I used on Shao Kahn (not every attack, but a good portion of them) was once youve knocked him down once, run up to him (but you must make haste,as after a certain point when hes trying to stand he'll just block) and just keep uppercutting him again and again,if timed right you can land IDK 4-6 in a row.

Mix this up w/ other strategies, just try not to allow him to block a move of yours at close range, cause if he turns it on its over.

Thanks dude. And yes, not being able to adjust the round limit is what I thought.

First of all, thank you for these, that's awesome. Does this strategy work in the second round against him as well, as I noticed all the videos appeared to be first round and he's far easier in this round?

By runjab, do you mean simply running up to him and low punching once before trying a special or uppercut or combo?

Was the footage taken from an actual arcade machine, or was it the Xbox LIVE version?

it works in both rounds, its also the arcade version (mame). you can just runjab him to death (or until the time ends), or try to mix it with special moves, because shao kahn will rarely block some specials (like freeze, spear, harpoon).

with sheeva you can just get hit by a shoulder for example and then immediately run and do her 7 hit combo. with kabal and sonya once you got him with a knee combo, just repeat it before he gets up (like in the sonya video).

there are literally tons of strats against him, but those are the easiest and most safe.

Awesome, thank you. I never played iUltimate Mortal Kombat 3 seriously back in the day, just with buddies at variety stores, and never learned to Run Jab. Gave it a whirl with Scorpion last night and stunk at it, so I'll need to get the hang of it.

Used to play a lot of Mortal Kombat 3 on my Super Nintendo Entertainment System, but I'm quite certain they reduced Shao Khan's general difficulty level for that port.

I've also noticed that Shao Khan tends not to block projectiles but rather counters them with his own (at a distance, at least).

Yes, this is usually what he does. His projectile is far more powerful, so throwing projectiles at him is usually a bad idea. With several exceptions.

Shao Kahn in MK9 is pretty easy if you play as Liu Kang :D

In Mortal Kombat (2011), I found Shao Khan the easiest with Noob Saibot and Smoke. As Noob Saibot, jump back and Khan will through a Projectile. Teleport Slam in mid air. Wash, rinse and repeat until you win.

For Smoke, I forget the name of the move but it's where he shakes back and forth and if anyone hits him, he disappears and drops on top of them. Jump pack and do this. Kahn tosses a projectile and instant counter. Get some distance and repeat.
