Fan Fiction - A Tale of the Adventures of Wave - Act III: Training of a Different Kind

Wave walked into the training grounds followed by Smoke, SubZero and Frost. He stared at all of the apprentices; he looked at one that was concentrating in the middle of the grounds. Suddenly, fire swirled around his body and shot out into the air.
"Wow, who is that master?"
"He is one of our most promising students, his name is Scortch."
Wave sped his pace just to get to Scortch. Wave approached and introduced himself.
"I am Wave the new arrival here."
"I heard"¦ do you think it would be okay if we sparred?"
Wave smiled and said, "Let's go!"
Scortch jumped up without using his hands and hopped back. Wave sank into his Dragon style as Scortch dropped into his selected style, it was one in which Wave was not familiar with. Scortch ran at him and jumped at the last second. Wave was confused and paid the price as Scortch landed on his back.
"Ready to give up, Wave?"
"Not on your life!"
Wave pushed Scortch off and jumped up. He raised his hands and a wave appeared behind Scortch, pushing him towards Wave. Wave looked over at SubZero and it was obvious that he was substantially impressed. Scortch came closer and Wave used his foot to kick and break Scortch's kneecap.
"Stop!"
Scortch sat, crippled, in the floor of the training grounds. Wave stood over him in triumph. SubZero stood for a minute, just taking in the information that their newest edition, with no additional training, could take down one of his star pupils. He walked over to Wave slowly.
"My God, you just crippled my best pupil that's not in the advanced training."
"Yes master, I am very sorry, but the fight just took over my mind, I needed to win.
"We're going to have to bump you up to the advanced training."
Wave's eyes twinkled and he smiled broadly.
"Master."
"Don't say anything, you've had a long day. Meet me at this location tomorrow. Try not to sleep all day tomorrow."
With a grin SubZero handed Wave a map and walked away followed by Smoke. Frost stayed behind.
"I guess we're having class together tomorrow, Wave."
"I guess we are."
She grinned and ran to catch up with SubZero. A determined fire flickered in Wave"™s eyes that day. He would have her, no matter what the costs
