Fan Fiction - Scorpion's Tale
Chapter Three: Ermac's Allegiance

Scorpion and Spider hopped into the Earthrealm portal and found Shang Tsung in the Nexus. His eyes widened in shock, the soul sorcerer took a step back, furrowed his eyebrows and proceeded to attack them with some dead soul warriors. Scorpion saw this move coming and jumped into Spider, so as to make both himself and her to dodge the sudden attack. Spider recovered from it immediately and threw her hooks into Tsung's shoulder blades. He howled in pain as he was pulled towards the woman holding the hooks. She uppercut the demon sorcerer, and as he fell Scorpion made hell fire rise to meet Shang Tsung. The servant fell to the ground, moaning in pain. The siblings ran to the place where Night Wolf said Quan Chi would be only to find he was no where to be seen. "Where is that - that - monster!" Scorpion groaned. Spider walked up to a guardsman of Seido and began to speak with him. "Excuse me, sir, do you know where a pale sorcerer is? His name is Quan Chi." She said politely. The guard turned and looked at the woman for a few seconds and answered her question. "Yes, I did see such a man. He ran to the corrupted realm. The Netherrealm. I know this because Hotaru, chief of the guards, walked in and told us of a pale face sorcerer, Quan Chi, who ran into the forbidden realm."

Spider thanked the Lieutenant for his help and followed her dead brother to the Nexus once again. They noticed that Shang Tsung was gone, but they ignored it. Then Spider remembered, "Hey, bro. I can't go in there." She said in a scared voice.

"Yes you can, any mortal can enter there. If their soul is corrupted, and yours is."
"How come?"
"Because you have befriended me, a hellspawn spectre." He said, hurt by his own words. Spider nodded and closed her eyes as she walked into the portal. When she opened her eyes a horrific sight met them. She tried to scream but all that came out was a choking noise. The realm was full of dead bodies hanging from the houses. There were no citizens, except black clad ninjas and undead guards. Scorpion explained who they were. "The ninjas in black, they're part of the BrotherHood of Shadow. Their leader is Noob Saibot. Trust me, you don't want to get him angry. The guards are the servants of," Scorpion swallowed as he remembered the name. "Shinnok" Scorpion held Spider's hand for her comfort, she was afraid of this realm. Suddenly, two oni jumped from behind a house and started to battle Scorpion and Spider. The two siblings fought bravely but were forced to run back to the red portal. Spider managed to escape the clutches of the two corrupted beings but Scorpion wasn't as lucky. He was trapped in a corner but he somersaulted over the monsters and escaped only to find Spider being kidnapped and dragged into Earthrealm. Scorpion ran to the green portal and tried to thrust himself
into it but a force field kept him from getting through. Scorpion cursed his bad luck, but the worst was yet to come Scorpion ran the wastelands of Outworld to find the soul warrior known as Ermac. He heard rumours that this fusion was psychic and could destroy huge amounts of magic with his own. Suddenly, a familiar ninja blocked his way. Sub-Zero had jumped in front of Scorpion for some unknown reason. "I can not allow you to go through. Shang Tsung and Quan Chi will destroy you if you try and stroll into their castle" Sub-Zero said in a concerned voice.

"When have you ever cared for me?" Scorpion asked darkly.
"Ever since you took that oath to protect my brother." Sub-Zero answered.

Scorpion thought for a moment, and remembered that this man's brother was the original Sub-Zero that he swore to protect. "Fine, come with me, help me kill Quan Chi, and save my sister, Spider." He grunted. The two new friends searched for the castle of Shao Khan, and found it, under control of Shang Tsung and Quan Chi. They moved both agile and stealthy, and eventually made it to the entrance of the huge castle. Suddenly two glowing figures burst through the two doors attacking the Tarkatan warriors as they ran. But then the snarling beasts surrounded them. As soon as they stopped Scorpion recognized the green glowing warrior at once. Ermac. It seemed the soul warrior had turned on his former master, Shao Khan. The other was the blind fighter, Kenshi. Scorpion knew little about this newcomer, but that didn't stop him from saving the two. Sub-Zero read his fellow ninja's mind and somersaulted over to the psychic warrior's aid. The battle that resumed was extremely fierce. Scorpion was burning up, and when a Tarkatan swiped his face with it's blade, Scorpion stared and then performed his most powerful attack; the fire breathing skull. Scorpion removed his mask just as Sub-Zero, Kenshi and Ermac were about to shoot their own powerful attack and then they shot their projectiles at the same time and. All the Tarkatans were destroyed by the four warrior's most powerful attack. They escaped to the Nexus where Scorpion remembered what he wanted to ask. "Ermac, please could you destroy this force field around the Earthrealm portal." He asked politely. Ermac nodded and walked up to the portal and thrust a cleansing spell onto the green substance. Immediately the two spells began to froth. Then, they both melted away and Ermac actually spoke. "That spell was of Shang Tsung's magic. I know this because of my many despicable years serving with him. We must save Scorpion's sister, or she may well face her death." Ermac ended with his strained voice sounding dark. All at once, the warriors leaped through the portal and found what they were searching for as soon as they set foot on earth.
