Fan Fiction - A Tale of the Adventures of Wave - Act V: First Mission

Two weeks after the fight with Scortch

Wave sat in a desk at the far side of the small room as Professor Smoke continued on with his lecture on Maneuver Fire and Water 5. Wave stared at Scortch as he took notes in his notepad.
"Mr. Scortch and Mr. Wave, please come to the training room to show this maneuver to the class. Class you will follow behind me to the training room as well."
Wave glanced at Scortch and Scortch glanced at him, they both smiled at each other and practically leapt out of their seats to get to the training room. One ahead of the other, Wave and Scortch dashed to the room. They both got there and figured that they had a little time before the rest of the class came. They figured they would have a friendly spar.
"You ready?"
"Bring it on fire man!"
Wave ran at Scortch and jump kicked him in the face. Scortch flew back but landed on his feet. He threw a sack on the ground and disappeared, then reappeared right next to Wave. Scortch hit him in the ribs and elbow slammed his head in the head causing Wave's face to go flying into the ground.
"I guess I win this round!"
"Not on your life!"
Wave tripped Scortch and Scortch fell on his back. Wave picked his foot up and set it down on Scortch?s chest.
"Now, who wins this round?"
"I'll get you sometime Wave!"
When Scortch had said that, it had not been out of hatred, it had been out of friendship, like he just liked the challenge of fighting Wave.
"Bravo!"
Wave and Scortch looked over to find Smoke and the rest of the class applauding them.
"We will have to report this to SubZero! He will be most pleased with you progress!"
Wave and Scortch exchanged a friendly glance and each chuckled.
Later that day? Wave and Scortch stood outside the door of SubZero's room. Wave knocked on the door.
"Come in, I've been expecting you!"
Wave opened the door and they both stepped inside. SubZero's room was furnished with a table, a couch, a bed and a few paintings on the wall, mostly of Arctic regions. It had a large stuffed polar bear in the corner and it also had a desk in which he was sitting at doing something with his hands. Wave realized what he was doing; he was making ice sculptures with his fingers.
"It's a hobby of mine."
"Huh?"
"I saw you looking."
"Oh, well Smoke sent us down here."
'Yes he said you have amazing fighting skills, both of you! I want you to become full fledged Lin Kuei ninjas!"
"Oh my God, Master we would be honored!" Wave and Scortch said in unison.
"Great, then your first mission will start immediately, I will give you the
briefing. There has been a dangerous ninja stalking the Lin Kuei grounds. We have identified him as Reptile and we want you to stop him."
"If he is a ninja then how do we tell if he's any different from the other Lin Kuei warriors?"
"He wears a green uniform, has scales, and a tail. You'll be able to tell don't worry about that! Now go, I want this problem solved as soon as possible."
Wave and Scortch walked out of the room and smiled eagerly. "I'm going to be the best Lin Kuei ninja ever!" they both said together. They glared at each other and the challenge was on.
