Chapter 1 - “Errors in Life”

A legend said that one day the true ruler of Outworld would return and he has. Onaga, the Dragon King is awake once more and I am only to blame. He deceived me with his puppet Damashi. He convinced me that I was the champion of the elder gods and had me gather what he needed to be free once more. I am Shujinko and I am the only one who can save the realms from Onaga. I must face him in Mortal Kombat.

The Dragon King’s Palace
“You have come along way from when I first met you,” said Onaga. “You’ve trained hard and learned from many. You showed Sub-Zero you were worthy of the Lin Kuei. You proved to Raiden that you were a champion. You even trained with the champion himself, Liu Kang. But now after all this it will mean nothing. You will die.” “Your words are strong Onaga, but I will prevail,” claimed Shujinko. “Your death will free those that I have condemned to Chaos. Now fight! Prove that you are the rightful emperor of Outworld.” Onaga stands from his throne.

The Dungeon
“Well, this is great,” says Kurtis Stryker. “I’ve been down here for years. I sat here as Shao Khan tried to take over. Then I listen to the insanity during the time of the Deadly Alliance. Now this new guy comes along. I finally see my friends again and it’s here where I see them and they’re all possessed. Why aren’t I possessed? Baraka replies, “Quit your babbling human! Or I will pierce your heart!” “Do it! I have been here too long! Just end it,” cried Stryker. “As you wish,” said Baraka as he drew his swords out of his arms. “No longer will I hear your voice.” Baraka stabs Stryker in the heart. “Ahhhhhh,” screamed Stryker as he falls to the ground and dies. Fatality… “Finish wiping the blood of your claws and prepare for battle monster,” a voice shouts from behind Baraka. Baraka yells back, “Who dares challenge Baraka.” He turns his head to see Ermac. Baraka in shock replies, “What is this? You have betrayed us.” “No I have chosen to do the right thing. I will free these trapped souls,” said Ermac. “None of your Tarakadian soldiers will interfere with our battle. It will be you and me.” “Fine, you fool,” Baraka yelled as charged for Ermac. He leaps into the air to stab his enemy, but Ermac uses his telekinesis to slam him to the ground. In anger Baraka jumps up and launches a flying shard at Ermac. Ermac reacts quickly and with an energy blast he evades the shard. “This is where you make you exit,” replies Ermac. He kicks Baraka and the mutant warrior crashes into a nearby wall, which breaks up letting him fall to his death. “I will know fix what I have done wrong,” says Ermac as he goes to get the keys to the cells.

Next Time: Shujinko’s fight against Onaga begins and Ermac releases the prisoners in the dungeon of the Dragon King’s palace.
